Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! How many reindeer do you know that worked at the North Pole?

well... aside from the ones in the song. Those guys are mostly jerks though.

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed the video! I had to really strive to get it out just in time for Christmas!

I didn't see it until last Christmas either. Kinda dissapointed I waited so long to watch it.

But then again my Christmasses wern't... well I won't say conventional, just the closest I ever had to a white Christmas was a white boxing day.

 No.1012247

>>1012246
White christmases aren' t quite common here either. You'd have to go further north in Scandinavia for that.

It's just not a movie with quite the same status here. A shame, it really is excellently funny.

 No.1012258

>>1012247
White Christmasses are always guaranteed up north... unless you live below the equator then it's south I guess.

Thing is though if you have a spread out family or at least some family issues, you can't just "book a lodge" and hope everyone will be happy there for Christmas. It's something I fancied but given where all my brothers at it be impractical.

Honestly I always love the idea of the Christmas tree. A nice centerpiece that's put up for a month or so, decorated with a little of everyone in the household, with ornaments of favorite games and shows and cartoons, and in lights and colors.
True some people get their trees already dressed, flocked, or just put up generic decorations, but those that put in a little of their personal touch makes it just that little special that is wonderful.

So let's enjoy some of our favorite drinks, talk about whatever is on our mind, and put up our own little decoration on the Christmas tree that is Ponyville.

Anyone here watch Theramintrees? He does extensive and professional work regarding healthy and unhealthy relationships, explaining toxic upbringings and lots of thoughtful and well researched material.

He does have a kinda anti-religion feel in many of his videos, but it's more that he generally criticizes dogmas and high control groups indiscriminately, whether in families or cults, or anything in between.

So, it's almost upon us. Here in Denmark it's a bit later than for you guys, PLUS we celebrate everything on Christmas Eve rather than waiting for anything till Christmas Morning, so basically, I probably won't be around much the next few days come this evening.

So I figured, let's have a little thread where we share holiday stuff. Wether it be songs, funny little clips, pictures, etc. And yes, that goes for all of the winter hoidays, naturally.

I'll start us off in the next post.

Yep. We*ve done that for decades.

Every year there are a few 24-hour episode Christmas shows for folks to watch. Usually about three - one for small kids, one for the family and one for adults which is often more satirical.

Some of them are great classics here and get rerun all the time, and since they tend to be musicals, a lot of songs from them tend to become Christmas classics too.

All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in ours Gauls, the third. All these differ from each other in language, customs and laws. The Belgae are the bravest, because they are furthest from the civilization and refinement of [our] Province, and merchants least frequently resort to them, and import those things which tend to effeminate the mind; and they are the nearest to the Germans, who dwell beyond the Rhine, with whom they are continually waging war; for which reason the Helvetii also surpass the rest of the Gauls in valor, as they contend with the Germans in almost daily battles, when they either repel them from their own territories, or themselves wage war on their frontiers. One part of these, which it has been said that the Gauls occupy, takes its beginning at the river Rhone; it is bounded by the river Garonne, the ocean, and the territories of the Belgae; it borders, Garonne separates the Gauls from the Aquitani; the Marne and the Seine separate them from the Belgae. Of all these, the Belgae too, on the side of the Sequani and the Helvetii, upon the river Rhine, and stretches toward the north. The Belgae rises from the extreme frontier of Gaul, extend to the lower part of the river Rhine; and look toward the north and the rising sun. Aquitania extends from the river Garonne to the Pyrenaean mountains and to that part of the ocean which is near Hispania: it looks between the setting of the sun, and the north star.

Taking a good look at wages relative to the cost of living in CA, have to admit i'm kind of suprised.  Finding out more and more most of the people coming out here are either orportunisitc or have kids and want to cash in on what people think are safe schools etc.

Finding out more and more if you have family there, esp if you live in or near the Asian parts of the state, it's quite a bit better.  Took the hint when I visited family earlier this year, looking at home prices in SoCal and wow, pleasently suprised, even happier when I see what the wages are compared to here.

I'm missing the sunshine and aestetics of that climate, the culture and EDM too.
