Did you know Sonic had a gamebook series from 1993-'96? Gamebooks were like like TTRPs only made for one player, had a very simple character sheet where a six-sided die was all thats needed and the GM was the book itself.

So I made my own TTRP thats more of an adaption of the book that blends traditional TTRP elements and modern Sonic gameplay into something simple and easy accessable to play.

Keep in mind that there is no "leveling". Character progression is decided on the player and the GM but all players have a standard set of strengths, weaknesses and abilities that mix-and-match us to our various challenges. This allows the RP to be more story driven than being under powered for situations while still presenting challenges when needed.

Also know that these rules are still WIP. Unlike usual TTRPGs I made them extremely simple just like they were in the gamebooks but still extremey flexible. If there is still inbalances or flaws that will upset gameplay then we can work it out.

Still given I'm perhaps the only Sonic fan on Ponyville.us /rp/ and still waiting for my SOnic gamebooks to arrive in the mail I doubt this RP will flourish much.

I think I have a brand new idea to add to my Sonic TTRPG.

However I dunno if it is practical to impliment into our current RP given I still don't have PhotoShop and that it's more suited for actual tabletop playing than over /rp/. And given I'm following the gamebooks which don't have them I may not bother with them, or see if I can add them in when I get photoshop back.

Stage Act
Similar to TTRPG dungeon maps but are actually more in common to traditional board games. If players need to travel from one point to another on foot and it's quite the distance then Stage Acts can serve as both intervals between locations and can offer challenges and rewards.

Think of it like a side-game where a montage of travel would usually be.

For example. A good oppotunity for a Stage Act would of been between Red Gate Bridge to Green Hill Zone. Or very least from where they are now to where next I plan.
Either we share a playing piece or have two seperate ones as we play through a homebrew board game to reach our destination.

Unlike dungeon maps that are used for navigation and storytelling, Stage Acts can still be used as dungeons of sorts. And Game Master may still impliment some roleplaying while playing through a Stage Act.

Years after tragedy had struck all of Equestria and three heroes reclaimed the cutie marks stolen from them and their kinsman, Equestria had entered a short era of relative peace which many of its citizens enjoyed. Now a days a new generation has taken up the mantle of being adventurers and some even making a success from it. Others though will soon find that their destiny are deeper than being sime simple hired blade and and their journey in life will take them to the darkest parts of this world. Danger will be around ever corner while Death looms over our intrepid heroes, causing to make Feats of Desperation.

A Sonic the Hedgehog RP set in the (Sega games) world of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Welcome to the Ponyville's newest and latest campaign in the Tails of Equestria RP, Feats of Desperation. Here in this thread you can read on about our house rules, settings and expectations, character sheets, and have general chats and questions out of the contents of the main RP thread.

For FoD, we will be running off of the Tails of Equestria Ruleset much like before but now we have a few new rules to go by to make the experience much better than before. Do you need to know the ToE rules? It will help immensely but its easy to follow so you won't need the book at hand and it can be easily taught. As for the house rules, it really just expands on the ToE rules and can be found by this link.

The setting we will be in will be the normal show canon like before, be sure to make a character to reflect that. Here we expect that the characters played will be invested in staying with the party for their own reasons and all and have a general idea as to what is going on in the story. Other than that you are free to roleplay as you wish within reason. Each player must submit a character in the OOC when expected to as well as post any upgrades here when their character levels up.

She turned the music up on her device, which sent a wireless signal to the slim device that was placed around the back of her head. Immediately it shook with the power of the music flooding her ears.

Beneath her hands warnings were flashing, but she ignored them as she maneuvered her ship through the wreckage and cold rock.

"...that's the price you paaay, leave behind your heartache, cast awaaay..."

A large piece of asteroid floated out from from behind some of the wreckage, so she threw it in reverse, then maneuvered to the left to avoid it.

"...'Cause you're a natural, a bleeding heart of stone..."

The heel of her boot tapped out the rhythm on the floor and her long ponytail swayed. When the music ended she hit replay, then reached forward and pushed the comm button twice to let her shipmate know that they were almost there.

Of course, she could have just spoken into the speakers to let him know, but there was no way she was going to throw off her groove like that.

After fitting one of them, a long cylinder with two canisters on either side mounted to an elongated pentagonal base, to a slot on his left forearm, he hefted a power drill in the other hand and secured it to the appropriate port, repeating the process for the opposite arm with a similar device. The third object he secured around his waste on a tool belt, letting the weathered eightgun hang from his hip in a cracked leather holster.

She cruises the ship to a crawl and threads her way through a couple of chunks of old hull that were stuck in a gravitational dance with one another. Beyond them was the main chunk of what was once the ship.

Pieces of debri and and junk floated about, and for a moment she wondered how many being had perished in the wreck. But it hurt to think about that, so she pushed the though aside and focused on getting her own ship as close as she safely could without putting herself in the path of more asteroids or large chunks of metal.

Once she felt like they were close enough, she pushed the comm.

"Alright, go ahead Targeris."

She knew she didn't need to tell him to be careful, but the urge was still there.

Introduction
This is the ToE roleplay thread where players who have created their own pony character can come on in and adventure with others in the world of MLP. If you want to join the thread then please check out the OOC thread and submit a character sheet and await for approval.

Rules
All of the rules stated in the ToE core rule book is applied here with the exception of a few house rules. First off when a character gains a new level, they will upgrade a single trait of their choice, upgrade their Cutie Mark Skill, and upgrade/learn 3 new skills. Skills can not be upgraded more than once per level. Also a character will only ever have two quirks to their character and will not gain new quirks when raising their level.

The Story so Far
Three ponies with different backgrounds, Epic Mount Critical Hit and Summer Rye, joined forces and set out into the world to solve a mystery of a coup involving an ancient key. After foiling several hideouts of the Usurpers they find that one of the diplomats going to Equestria wanted to use the powers of a long dead Pegasus city called Stratus. Eventually Red Winter was stopped but at the cost of the party's lives and they ended up in Tartarus. Instead of going to the final resting place, their souls were stolen by Tirek and he stole their cutie marks so that he would have the strength to escape his prison. Afterwords the heroes were let go so they could stop Tirek and they headed back out into the world once more. Eventually they rescue the Mane 6 from the Badlands as well as saving an ancient underground city called Umberfoal. After that they set out and each recovered their cutie marks and now they have spoke with Celestia to plan out their attempt against Tirek as well as pulling funding from government to help ponies who had already lost their marks.
