Was it Rarity who bravely approached a raging manticore, because she knew what was causing it's pain and had the courage to help it?
Can Rarity stare down a cockatrice and live?
Does Rarity have the balls to steal from royalty, that being Celestia's personal pet, just because it was looking sickly?
Could Rarity convince one of the most chaotic and potentially dangerous villains in all of Equestria to be a good friend?
When Zecora had that fatal illness, who pushed herself to find the cure at the risk of her own health?
You think Rarity could put up wit hthat little shit Angel Bunny 24/7?

so basically i'm kinda just making a stockpile of works, and showcasing some writing in the form of little videos, which take their own time

when i get to a place where i can properly give an elevator pitch to a prospective client, then i'll really push it, but until then, i'm just packing the keg and honing the skills

sharing a portfolio is typically fine and free for the most part; it's just contests that would be a paid submission, and outside of like the biggest ones like the Zoetrope contest  (a francis ford coppala contest), there really isn't much merit in them

typically THE best way to get your work in the hands of others is to work in the system itself, ideally in a writers room, or at the very least a PA on set.

alternatively, i could be a director and make my own work, but that's another can of worms that i'd have to consider if i wanna persue that line

anywho, i must hit the sack! goodnight clarity ^_^

I guess it depends on where you go. There are bar Karaoke's where it's completely free. You just have to tell the person playing music that you wanna hit the que.

Then there are places where you can rent a private sound proof room for friends.

I used to go to the forest with a close group of drinking friends and we would throw a party every weekend. Some of them played instruments and we would either make up our own songs on the spot or use the blue tooth speaker to pick out things to sing to once another. We would also light up a fire and dance. That was the first time I ever really sang for anyone other than myself in a group setting. It was also the first time I was told by a group of people that I was surprisingly good. It was a pleasant time.

Not in our group at least. We had plenty of people who 'sucked' but everyone was having a good time. The quality never really mattered, it was about the spirit of joining in. Good times.

I remember one night everyone was listening to rap music and there was this one Russian guy who jumped in with a freestyle. It was the funniest shit I had heard in a long time.

I didn't "complain", I simply stated I was here on Ponyville.us over Ponychan.
the post was also for Moony who was concerned over their management of Ponyville.us, and I wanted to consolidate them. I'm sure you're doing just fine with Ponychan.

Other than that, why does it matter? I'm not disgracing your Ponychan over it, I just don't want to go back-and-forth between ponyboards. Especially when the last few years of Ponychan before you renew it, I was pretty much 100% lurking. I no longer knew the people around it and no longer felt belonged.

If you're genuinely hurt over what I said, all I can say is sorry. You asked Clarity if our TDE RP can continue on Ponychan /rp/ and he asked me if we can continue there, which I said sure.
But you can't expect me to just take up a whole site if I don't feel comfortable with it.

>>1192782
All I said wsas "When Ponychan was revived, I decided to just stick with Ponyville.us than going back and forth". My reason was " I was not that active on OG Ponychan".

I didn't say any slander or thrown shit towards Ponychan. I never did. It's just no longer the community I go to... except for /rp/ because that's where our roleplay session was. Given it was just the three of us on /rp/, I'm fine with that. And that I was there to continue the RP with you because I figured that's what friends do.

 No.1192785

>>1192784  "It's ok Moony, at least you're not as bad as Ponychan."
You know that just not bringing it up is an option?  Why bring it up at all?  just to get a few brownie points with the other folks here who are also bringing up Ponychan for no reason whatsoever to show how superior they are?

I don't expect you to take up the site.  I expect you to not talk about it if you don't.  I don't need your reasons.  No one else does either.

You said you decided to not go there when it was first created.  And then you went there anyway.  There was no mention of changing your mind, or changing circumstances, or anything of the sort.  So you made your decision.  It's still your decision.  And yet you expect to continue going there.  Does that make you a liar or a hypocrite?  You didn't say "I only go there for RP."  You basically implied that you never have and never will go there.  What purpose does that serve for you?  make you look good?  you chose the winning team?  good job - here's your ⭐.

I come here and try to be cordial with people, and yet people still find any little way to take digs at the site I now run, a site that 90% of you have nothing to do with.  And most of the people who are there are here, too.  want to make sure you let those people know that you aren't there?  maybe you'll get some more people to stop coming back if you're lucky.

don't worry, I've already written everyone here off.  I don't expect you to come around.  I don't even care if you do.  I just want you to shut the fuck up about it.

I went there, to /rp/, because you asked.
I figured that's what friends do.
...
I remember when Ponychan, the Ponychan I knew way back then, preached about Love and Tolerance.
Tenants that Moony wanted to continue and uphold on Ponyville.us. Tenants that he felt he was not doing too good with, and I just wanted to give them words of support.

And here you are seething over something as measly as an opinion. You can't tolerate that I simply prefer one ponyboard over another, and now you openly hate me for it.

Hate and Intolerance.

I simply went to Ponychan /rp/, because you asked for our time roleplaying together to continue. I didn't had, to, I told Clarity I was a bit iffy, but I wanted to because I figured you were my friend. That regardless which ponyboard we're on, we were still having fun together.
Or maybe I deluded myself thinking you were my friend by how well our characters got along, all the while you hated me for not obligating to the rest of your Ponychan.

I'm hurt that behind the dwarven charm, you never regarded me a friend.

I don't need to speak a single ill word of your Ponychan if this is the kind of person, owner of Ponychan, is truly is.

If you want to quit roleplaying with me, fine. With your commitments IRL, you were hardly on anyway. Like, we only had sessions three times a year at this point. I patiently awaited your return because i figured that's what friends do.

If you want to ban me from a site I only visited about three or four times in total out of obligation, Fine. I had an autoban during our RP just for linking to a previous Ponyville.us RP which further shows your intolerance.

...
But I will say, I will miss roleplaying with you.
I genuinely had fun with Nazom and always looked forward to seeing how the friendship between our characters further progressed. Especially given the common stigma between elves and dwarves.

to me, that felt genuine. And I want to keep those memories fondly. With you, me and Clarity playing Dark Eye together.

I'm not seething.  I don't even give a shit that you prefer this board over the other.  I wrote you off in that regard long ago.  Literally nothing I could do would ever make you visit Ponychan aside from RP.  So there was no point in even trying.  You said that yourself.  You made the decision the moment the site went up.  That has nothing to do with whether I considered you a friend or not.  That's just the reality - whether or not we were friends made no difference whatsoever on whether you used the site.  Which is fine.  But being friends, and having you take digs at the site that I run are mutually exclusive.

Are we doing this now?  Tell me - what kind of friend are you, lying about the site I run?  Publicly distancing yourself from it, while having used it several times and intending to use it again?  Again, how does that serve you?  the fuck were you thinking?  Did you think I just wouldn't notice you saying you had no ties to the site whatsoever, what, so you can look good to Moony through some sort of delusion?

No, what pisses me off is that I did consider you a friend, and then you took digs at the site I run, for no fucking reason.  just like all the other people here who take digs at the site I run, for no fucking reason.

Yeah I thoroughly enjoyed roleplaying with you both as well.

You asked Clarity to move our RP to your site, so of course he would ask me because we make up the RP. I could've just said "no", would you've been obligated to continue on Ponyville.us over your own if I insisted Ponyville.us /rp/ was simply more comfortable for me?

And again, I was mostly referring to OG Ponychan, the ORIGINAL Ponychan before you took over it. I didn't obligate to your Ponychan because I figured I would feel just as out-of-place as before.

When I said I didn't use Ponychan, it's true in a way. /rp/ being the pure exception given our RPs consist of you, me and Clarity. After the sessions finish, I close the tab and go on my way. I don't commit to the other /boards/ because I just don't want to end up lurking and feeling off like I did OG Ponyville.

The only slither of mention to your Ponychan was "When Ponychan was revived, I decided to just stick with Ponyville.us than going back and forth.", That wasn't an insult, nor was I throwing shade at it. I just made a choice, a choice you acknowledge and claim "don't even give a shit that you prefer this board over the other.  I wrote you off in that regard long ago.".

You're making it out like I took a big steaming shit on your Ponychan, when all I said was state a simple preference.

People blame me for what Toybox did, and then others blame me for not being Toybox.  Frankly, all of you can suck a dick in that regard.

There are many instances of people here who take a big steaming shit on Ponychan for no reason in threads that have literally nothing to do with it.  And then people like yourself who just nod along and go "hmmm, yeah."  It's a matter of degree.

>True, soliciting should be frowned upon, but what's stopping those users to visit both if they wanted to? Just because I have a prefer one over the other, doesn't make me an example of all users.

So, if you had users on your Ponychan who do prefer Ponyville over yours... do you ban them?

>>1192799
Yeah.

As I said, when the ORIGINAL Ponychan was on it's last years. The old members were gone, the new members were spouting shit I didn't know about. I felt out-of-place. When the ORIGINAL Ponychan ended, I felt a bit relieved because I had two tabs open and was mostly lurking on the other. The chapter of my life that was Ponychan I was done with.

When Boat said he started the new Ponychan, out of respect, I said "I'll just stick to Ponyville.us". Not because I hated the new Ponychan, but if it was a continuation of before, I didn't want to get in that rut again.

>>1192800

Couldn't you had started your own thread series on Ponychan and ask Clarity to attend it?

It feels as if you feel there "should be" a bitter rivalry between your Ponychan and Ponyville.us, all the while Clarity is proof there are users who can enjoy both fairly.

>People blame me for what Toybox did, and then others blame me for not being Toybox.  Frankly, all of you can suck a dick in that regard.
I'm not fully adverse with OG Ponychans drama at the end of its life. So sorry you had to put up with your own troubles.

If those users were being trolls, then sure, ban them. I believe you're in the right to do so if they're being a disruption to your community.

Alright. Good night.

But just to be absolute clear:
• The statement I said to Moony was that I simply prefer one ponyboard over the other. I don't believe I wrote anything specifically to openly and publicly disgrace your Ponychan, nor do I have interest to do so.
• The statement for Moony was in regard to how they were managing Ponyville.us, not how you were managing yours or in comparison to it.
• I said I don't go on Ponychan, but the reason why I never mentioned our time on /rp/ was because usually just the three of us and afterwards I close the tab. I don't stay or post to the rest of Ponychan. I felt it would be an unfair statement if I said I did.
• On either ponyboards or anywhere in general, I NEVER said I hated your Ponychan. I choose not to go on it for preference reasons. I'd never sling shit at it.
• The one time I was autobanned for posting Ponyville.us link was during our RP-session because I was reference a single post from our previous RPs (You were there at the time). Not to go "hurr-hurr, Ponyville.us is better!" that you had to put up with.
• My statement was never meant at all to sting you. Regardless, I am sorry you felt that way. However, how you responded towards me over it... it stung back.

I do feel put a back by your outburst. You took my opinion that was never against you personally and made me out like shit. I know we were never best friends, but I thought we were at least cool. Now I feel you regard me shit.

Regardless, if you don't want to continue our TDE RP, here or there, that's fine. If anything, we hardly play anyway, so perhaps it's best to let go of it.

>While I am not an active viewer of Esh streams for the same reasons I was not that active viewer of Noelle videos, Esh still made great effort into continuing quality of entertainment so that I found Esh steams more enjoyable than Noelle videos.  [So much so that] When Noelle created his new channel, I decided to just "stick with" Esh streams (i.e. give up entirely on ever watching Noelle videos) than going back and forth.  (and if I accidentally click a Noelle video, I will deny it and immediately close the window after it finishes, claiming I never watched it, and stating as such.)
I don't think Esh nor Noelle would mind if I, a single viewer, favoured one over the other because as content makers they make content for a general audience. That's not to say that they do not put effort into their content, but they simply appreciate if they still have viewers as well as likes and subscribes. If a single viewer choose to subscribe to one channel and block the other, it won't be the end of their YouTube channels. If they knew it was "me" who was that one user, who favours Esh channel and ignores Noelle channel, even though though I obviously seen one or two of Noelles videos I don't think Noelle would mind as much given she has plenty of viewers, subscribers and such. I'd be no skin off their nose.

>But that's just a personal preference, right?  You should be able to say to Noelle all day err' day that you'd never give him a second of your time, because that is your preference.  Announce to the world that you wouldn't give a second of your time, too.  Because it's important that people know that you wouldn't give Noelle a second of your time.  Especially when the other people in the thread are talking about how much they hate Noelle's videos.
Again, you're making it sound like I made a parade of the matter. I can't speak for Noelle, but I imagine they're more concerned managing their content, channels, and providing for their audience, over whenever one guy says he prefers the others channel or not.

>And in a thread where others were already throwing shade at Ponychan, going so far as to call it a Nazi site, you made sure to let everyone know that you've decided to never go there.  You're one of the good ones.  You decided to never go there even before it was cool!
Do you mean this thread or Moony's pin thread? Because I don't know what it's like on Ponychan's general boards. I've only been to /rp/ and it's just the three of us. If people are accusing you of running Ponychan as a dictatorship, that is the attitude you are presented yourself.

>I explained the auto-ban is a general prohibition against anyone advertising this place, because the reason people do it has been to steal away the few people who do find Ponychan organically and bring them here instead.  And no, there is no "let them choose" aspect to it because it's a false choice.  When someone is given the 'choice' between posting on a site with 8 users, or another equivalent site with 30 users which also includes half of the 8, no one is ever going to post on the site with 8.  Ponychan does not exist just so Ponyville can advertise itself and boost its numbers at our expense, as much as that might serve you and the others who only post here.  Sorry not sorry.  Yeah I'm sure all those people who talk shit about the site would love it if every new user got sent here instead, wouldn't they..
To how you worded it, you acknowledge that the reason why you prohibited advertising Ponychan, is because you're concerned over users leaving in favour of Ponyville.us over Ponychan. Instead of letting users acknowledge the other ponyboard and let them decide their preferences, you don't want them to choose, it's a "false choice" because Ponyvill.s us more flourishing than your own.

that would be like if a McDonalds and a Burger King were across the streets from one another. It would make perfectly logical sense for the Burger King to deny some clown barging in and telling everyone his restaurant is better. But the restaurants won't try to deny the fact there is another restaurant across the road or delude it's customers thinking it's the one and only. Customers are free to choose their preferred restaurants.

And if Ronald McDonald found out I've been eating at Burger King, or decided I don't like McDonald despite the fact I've had McDonalds before... he's got billions of other customers.

>Sure, I overreacted.  When I see a person who I RP with, telling people that's he's chosen to never use the site that he RPs on, I got pretty mad about it.  And that's my opinion, that you're trying to publicly distance yourself from the site - otherwise you wouldn't be so hell-bent on insisting it's "only" RP and therefore doesn't count.  It would be like me arguing that I have never and do not post on ponyville because I only ever post in Story, therefore it doesn't count.  Ridiculous.  It's like smoking marijuana but not inhaling I guess; "technically" you can argue either way depending on which way the wind is blowing.  There's a world of difference between saying "I only post on Ponyville" vs "I chose to only post on Ponyville over Ponychan"
You don't just go on Ponyville.us, you go on /pony/ which is the main community-area of Ponyville.us, I don't know if you visit /townhall/ or /canterlot/ but you still actively partake in the overall community of Ponyville.us whenever it be the people on Story Thread or the few other threads you posted to.

The only people I have ever interacted with on Ponychan is you and Clarity. I never been to the community areas of Ponychan, so I can't say I've been a part of it as a whole.

When you asked Clarity to move our RP to Ponychan, I felt you at least wanted the RP to continue there, so I followed because I liked RPing with you and Clarity. I could've said "no, I'm sticking to Ponyville.us /rp/" in which case then what? An impasse? To me it was more about commitment to the RP.

>I thought we were cool too, which is another reason it pissed me off so much.  seemed like just the latest instance of someone I thought I was cool with here stabbing me in the back for seemingly no reason.
>I've been looking forward to our RP.  If you want to play it under the table and pretend like you aren't posting over there, that's just fine by me.  wouldn't want to ruin your squeaky clean reputation.
If I cared over "squeaky clean reputation", anyone can just look at Ponychan /rp/ and see our RP sessions there, so it's not like I can cover it up if I cared to.

I understand however, you feel that I'm straight-up lying about our RP sessions in /rp/ together and I'm sorry if you feel that should count as Ponychan as a whole. The reason why I didn't brought it up to begin with because given it's just the three of us RPing, I figured it be just as much of a lie if I said I was a frequent and/or active member of Ponychan, when it's just the one thread in /rp/ with two other people.

Incidentally, why did you ask for Clarity to move the RP from Ponyville.us to Ponychan to begin with? With faster response rate, wasn't it fine to begin with?

>I lurk some threads on this site, and I've read quite a bit that's gotten under my skin for various reasons.  I do my best to ignore it, or voice my frustrations to a select few individuals, and try not to cause a scene.  But when I read what you said in that thread, following all the things that already gotten under my skin in that same thread, it really pissed me off.  If it had been from most anyone else I wouldn't have cared.  But coming from you, I did.  I'm sorry for overreacting.  I honestly don't care if you or anyone else prefers to post here.  It's not like that's any kind of secret that you prefer to post here.  Almost everyone who posts on both sites prefers to post here.  The fact that I thought we were cool, and then the very publicly distancing yourself from the other site while simultaneously using it, was what pissed me off.
Thank you for consolidating.

It sounds like it's something that's been building up for quite some while. My guess having to keep Ponychan going is stressful and daunting task and when you read >>1192702 it just triggered a meltdown, caused you to overreact and think much worse of me than the intended words.

I will say that while I have been hurt over how you responded (mild anxiety triggered), I have learned more about you over it. I can't say I "agree" with your community managing with "false choices" and such, but in a way, I think I understand you're just trying to hold Ponychan together and keeping it relevant all the while getting shit from both it and outside.

I currently don't know where we "stand". and I don't want to go to bed with it on my mind. If you still regard me scum and no longer want to acknowledge or roleplay then I did all I could to answer for myself. But I never meant to hurt you or anyone with what I said.

>>1192845  See, there was a reason I deleted that post.  Most of what I said wasn't going to change your mind and is generally pointless to argue in the first place.  Unfortunately you decided to dig up my post and address the points anyway.  And given your post, my original response was quite scathing.  I've decided against posting it, but I'm still going to address your points.

>I don't think Esh nor Noelle would mind if I, a single viewer, favoured one over the other...
This hypothetical has been completely lost on you.  I don't feel like re-explaining it would accomplish anything.  A hypothetical situation is not negated by the fact that it is not the situation as seen in real life.  That's what makes it hypothetical.  Whether or not someone reacts graciously to you telling them, doesn't make the act of telling them less of a dick move.

>Again, you're making it sound like I made a parade of the matter. I can't speak for Noelle, but I imagine they're more concerned managing their content, channels, and providing for their audience, over whenever one guy says he prefers the others channel or not.
see above

>You thinking I've publicly announce hatred over your Ponychan, that's all on you.
No, not hatred.  I've made that quite clear.  You are putting words in my mouth.  Again.

>Do you mean this thread or Moony's pin thread?
Moony's awful thread.
>If people are accusing you of running Ponychan as a dictatorship, that is the attitude you are presented yourself.
No, they're accusing me of being a dictator because Moony used loaded language in the OP, and then the sycophant lemmings here ran with it.  You must be thinking of Old Ponychan and the petty tyrants who ran it without any consideration of user feedback.

Yes, after seeing Old Ponychan destroyed, and the people here dancing on its grave ( https://ponyville.us/arch/res/4740.html ), I couldn't give less of a shit about people here recruiting new members at our expense.  Sorry not sorry.

>that would be like if a McDonalds and a Burger King were across the streets from one another. It would make perfectly logical sense for the Burger King to deny some clown barging in and telling everyone his restaurant is better. But the restaurants won't try to deny the fact there is another restaurant across the road or delude it's customers thinking it's the one and only. Customers are free to choose their preferred restaurants.
Sure.  Find me a Burger King that allows McDonald's employees to come in and pin up McDonald's fliers.  Take your time; I'll wait.

>And if Ronald McDonald found out I've been eating at Burger King, or decided I don't like McDonald despite the fact I've had McDonalds before... he's got billions of other customers.
Does Ponychan have billions of other users, or does each lost user account for a massive percentage of its user base?  And do you care about any that are lost or do you only care about the ones you gain here?

>You don't just go on Ponyville.us, you go on /pony/ which is the main community-area of Ponyville.us, I don't know if you visit /townhall/ or /canterlot/ but you still actively partake in the overall community of Ponyville.us whenever it be the people on Story Thread or the few other threads you posted to.
This is what's known as a No True Scotsman, where you make arbitrary conditions to excuse yourself from meeting the otherwise incredibly reasonable criteria.  And when I demonstrate the absurdity of this to you, by making my own equally legitimate No True Scotsman version of your argument, you now have a problem with it.

>I could've said "no, I'm sticking to Ponyville.us /rp/" in which case then what? An impasse?
Yes.

You can just say "I've posted there before" or "I post there occasionally."  It isn't difficult.  The all or nothing approach doesn't make sense any more than it does here.

>Incidentally, why did you ask for Clarity to move the RP from Ponyville.us to Ponychan to begin with? With faster response rate, wasn't it fine to begin with?
Because Clarity effectively gutted the legitimacy of Ponychan by moving Ponychan's oldest thread to [Something That Isn't Ponychan].  And given that he did so by pulling the rug out from under me, I insisted that something be moved to Ponychan in return.  That thing was the practically dead RP.
If you want faster response rate on Ponychan.........  not even going to say it.

>Thank you for consolidating.
I'm not sure what you mean.

>It sounds like it's something that's been building up for quite some while. My guess having to keep Ponychan going is stressful and daunting task and when you read >>1192702 it just triggered a meltdown, caused you to overreact and think much worse of me than the intended words.

i don't think i've tried drawing avatar characters (perhaps cause of my furry fixation) so you have a leg up on me in that department

well i already know the martial arts of 3 of the 4 styles of bending: Water (Tai Chi), Air (Bagua Zhang), and Fire (northern shaolin); so the only one vacant is earth style

if gun to my head, i would probably choose airbending, cause Bagua is my favorite martial art, and it would be fun to fly around and make spinning vortexes

but honestly, i'd be down for any of them!

how bout you?

 No.1193224

>>1193223
I would if every attempt I ever made didn't suck.

Well, real life variant aside, pick an element.

I think probably Earth Bending. Going with the archetypes, it seems the most fitting for a dude my size. I also just always have a weakness for characters that manage to use both a lot of force AND style. So a hard-hitting style that tends to get overlooked for its surface simplicity is interesting.

>>1193224
hey, your picks exist, so they suck with the sweet aroma of effort and value!

hmm... i think i would still be airbending, the overall ethos and philosophy of the air nomads is one that i vibed with the most, and i try to cultivate a detached nature that allows me to freely bend and move with the currents and around the trials and tribulations that come my way; if Lao Tzu was like water, Lieh Tzu would be wind, as he was described as the sage who rode the clouds, indifferent to external things, and in lightness free to pursue what truly makes us happy, which fits the mind i wish to attain; so in philosophy, style, and vibes, i feel Air is my element

earthbending fuckin rules tho! i think that choice fits you so perfectly! and i challenge anyone to look at Toph and think that Earthbending is dull and boring! so rock on, earth dude!

while you are doing the horse stance, you can hold your arms straight out, with your hands pushed palm out, index fingers straight up, other fingers curled, and thumb pulled in along the index finger

then i went to a mall and got this awesome hazbin hotel pride shirt at a hot topic! as well as some discounted shoes that i thought were nice!

then i got paid from work!

and then my dad and i went to a local mexican place, and we ate some good food and i had this margarita with Tajin on the rim, and it was pretty tasty!

then i worked on stuff for a bit

now i'm here!

>>1193249
that is also true! it's funny, i have like THE most wisdom in my group, and i have drunken many folk under the table, swan dived off a hundred foot tall sailing banister, nearly got us all killed by a royal after saying the ancient prophecy out loud in a performative dance despite it being forbidden knowledge, was sent on a vision quest style hallucination state where i ran first at a front line of an enemy army thinking that they were a gingerbread temple, and dove into water and got hit by a torpedo; while trying to save people that were clearly not in danger

the fact that i'm alive is a blessing in its own right

i do love cake! especially cheesecake <3

well i hope i'm providing enough entertainment for you in your moments before the work slog kicks in!

it's called "Once upon a Witch's Death" which is about a young witch named Meg Raspberry, whom on their 17 birthday, is told that in a years time she will die to a curse. The only way she can stop it is if she gathers 1000 tears of joy between now and then to stop the curse from taking her life. It's very heartwarming, got fun humor, and i just love the protag so much ^_^ i recommend!
