Dude, how some of y'all still get ads?
uBlock Origin on Furryfox still works alright unless I'm missing somethin' here. I'll admit though that I sometimes use the YouTube app on my phone for convenience rather than a configurable browser sometimes so I still see some ads.

 No.1187200

>>1187199 AdblockPlus is in a game of cat and mouse with YouTube.  YT changes their site to get around the block, and then ABP has to update to bypass the ads again.  At the moment YT is winning the battle.
Also, hello.

Ah I see. I believe it. Big companies are always trying to step on the little guys. I've been having some good luck with my current adblocker watching my boy Mutahar. Glad to see you having a good time here. Always good to try and get along. I'm alright on my end. Just wish I wasn't so burnt out from my studies.

I caved and got Premium. I use YouTube often enough and often watch it on my TV that it makes sense. Plus, yanno, actually being a (hilariously low tier) YouTuber myself, I do kinda want my views to add a bit to the income of those I watch.

I sure as hell wish it wasn't necessary though. But last time I didn't have it, it was literally unwatchable. I got THREE ad breaks in an eight minute video, and two of them were the same ad. No thank you.

 No.1187203

>>1187201  I might have to try ublock; I just use ABP out of habit at this point because I've been using it for years.  Thanks; I appreciate it.  I've pretty well come to terms with the notion that no one here give a rat's ass about anything I do.  I try not to take it personally.  What's Mutahar up to?  What are you studying nowadays?
>>1187202  I'd considered it because it would be useful on my phone since I drive so much.  Yeah the prevalence of 2+ minute ads is getting ridiculous.

 No.1187204

>>1187203
I wouldn't even mind if it was like... ONE ad break before a video or something. And the ads actually rotated.

But when I get hit with an amount of ads that add up to the same runtime as the video itself, I start to get just a lil bit buttmad.

Fair enough. I don't feel so inclined to get the benefits of Premium myself for my use case.. although I may consider it.

He's lately been talking about the Nintendo Switch 2 and being a Linux advocate in general. Not much other than just being an Indian gamer I'd enjoy watching. I'm just finding my way around the community edition of Burp Suite for bug bounty endeavours. Hard as hell, but I'm told it's potentially a rewarding pathway.

>>1187204  I wouldn't even mind the overly long videos, if they had the skip button.
>>1187205  I was reading that the many different package managers may be unified soon, which would be great.
That looks interesting.  What's difficult about it?  Have you considered paying for the professional version?

 No.1187207

>>1187206
Again, if I didn't do it myself and didn't mostly watch on my TV, I'd probably still just be sticking with AdBlockers.

It's a losing game for viewers AND for YouTubers. Trust me, plenty of folks making these videos aren't happy about their work being interrupted with fuckshit ads every five minutes either.

>>1187205
Being able to skip an ad in modern digital society, what a concept.

It would be nice for the Advanced Package Tool to be unified with Arch's pacman.
I'm having a difficult time integrating the onion routing protocol for anonymized port scanning of domains. There's still a lot to learn that I'm not quite acquainted with yet.
>>1187207
Even the fbi recommends that you use an adblocker. Large companies always have to make life difficult for others.

 No.1187219

>>1187218
YouTube prioritizes interaction. Sticking around. Watching for a certain amount of time. Yes, subscriber count does matter, but 1) You'd need a LOT and these scammers will ask for 100s of dollars for Subsbscriber amounts in the 100s which do not have that big a noticable effect and 2) These are "dead" bot subs that do not watch, do not comment, do not like, do not interact. All you will really do is inflate a number that is at most a little bit of the algorhithm boost.

 No.1187220

>>1187219  I'd pay a few bucks for my subscriber count to stop going down.

 No.1187221

Well, I at least don't have that problem. Growth is slow, but it rarely dips outside of the occasional -1 sub that just happens when an account is deactivated or somesuch.
