Jesus offends Christians cause he loves whom they hate

Oh boy this shit again

 No.15575

If religion is a personal experience that only those within the religious proper group are supposed to interpret, then politicians should stop forcing it on everyone else.

 No.15576

>>15573
The early Christians didn't hate Jews or women or gays or any other group and believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross in order to atone for the sins of all mankind and thus create a universal restoration between God and Man, which is why Jesus is the 'Son of God' and the 'Son of Man' both.

This is summed up well by line that there's "no Jew or Greek, male or female, or anything else, for we are all one in Christ Jesus".

All of this is utterly terrible from the perspective of violent, greedy, and hateful governments. Whether it's slavetrading companies or mercenary collectives: believing that your neighbors are 'brothers and sisters, loved by the same God' is a universal acid against tyranny.

This is the core reason why types who lie, cheat, steal, rape, murder, kidnap, and so on (from Nazi Germany to Napoleonic France to the modern Russian Federation and so on) have for multiple centuries attempted to rot Christianity from within.

In short: hating Jews for being born Jews or gays for being born gays or tennis players for being tennis players or gamers for being gamers (or any other hangup) is an extremely easy way to rile up mobs for malicious purposes and making you rich as well as powerful. Telling people "God loves all of the innocent children of the world, and Jesus wishes for them all to be held by His tight arms" is like pouring water on a fire, instead. That belief system makes neighbors love each other. Not hate each other.

Not sure what else to say other than that.

tl ; dr modern Christians and modern atheists are basically exactly the same and view actual Christianity as the same, and are both wrong the same way

I'm not saying it's any of that.
I'm saying that this kind of shitty cherrypicking is done exclusively in bad faith.
That it is explicitly a tactic, and not something set for a meaningful discourse.

I have no cause to entertain such rot.

The majority of all comments on social media that involve either a)single images and/or b)videos are inherently made in bad faith. Literally. I think.

 No.15581

I don't really follow at all.
What do you mean by single images? As in, a single image posted in response, without text? Or as in just one image, and not multiple?
Are the comments accusing the videos of being bad faith, or are they making videos in bad faith?
I fear the English is rather rough to parse here.

If creatures such as archangels, angels, demons, archdemons, ghosts, and other spiritual entities do truly physically exist, including the risen Jesus Christ having a new body after death, then I'm going to argue that regular people can't visually understand what they'd see due to the human limitations on how our senses work.

So, there'd be confusion all over no matter what

I'll share this photograph again as a great example.

Intellectually, regular people know that Bose-Einstein condensates and other forms of exotic matter exist, and we can read science journalism while nodding. In your regular life, though, if you saw a gigantic pile of glowing red globs wiggling across the air or whatnot, you'd probably scream in horror and wet your pants in worry. Come on. Admit it. I would do that.

Op is correct. Churchgoers will never call out their own for sex crimes. Weird how they always find forgiveness for those they inherently trust the most, but I guess that's cherrypicking

Can you delete this post and replace it with something that I can read?

I've attempted to go through this at least three times, and not a single sentence of yours has any connection to the actual English language that I can tell.

Whenever somebody expresses either standard Catholicism through something like quoting Pope John Paul II or independent Christianity as tied to Asia or related places through something like quoting Leo Tolstoy, my experience is that almost always they get trolled back.

And few actually care about what books say, even if they should get offline and then read them.

The gap between intelligent Christian historical authors and "Penis Penis Penis LOL" internet people is shocking.

Call it what you like. I've seen these dishonest arguments my entire life, and I've absolutely zero cause to give them credence.
They are universally dishonest. They are not made in good faith.
You can whine about my recognizing that all you want, but at the end of the day, I should not be obligated to engage with dishonest people and their dishonest argumentation.

>>15603
> few actually care about what books say,
I would suggest that most care about what the Bible says, rather than some random guy's view on things.
Though it may be different for Catholics. I am not a Catholic, nor are they the majority in my country.

 No.15609

It's rather astonishing that you and people like you somehow believe that statements by Pope John Paul II in their books as well as the multiple thousands of years involving Christian literature can just be hurled in the trash can for basically no reason, all because your personal political politics demand "Jesus says that everybody must hate the people that I hate and vote for those that I vote for". God help us.

But like, sure, let's just forget everything said by the actual Apostles or anybody connected to them in any way because the personal feelings of 2020s era conservatives is that the LGBT+ must all be hated by God and must all burn in hell, since it "seems right to me". I suppose. Again... God help us.

 No.15610

>Call it what you like. I've seen these dishonest arguments my entire life, and I've absolutely zero cause to give them credence.

I hear Christians say that about other Christians, it's not a monolithic religion, despite what some Christians want to believe about their interpretation of it. It's just cowardly and arrogant wishful thinking to dismiss anyone who believes and practices their denomination and criticizes your interpretation 'dishonest'. >>15605

>They are universally dishonest. They are not made in good faith.

Keep telling yourself that

>You can whine about my recognizing that all you want, but at the end of the day, I should not be obligated to engage with dishonest people and their dishonest argumentation.

You're delusional and a coward if you believe that everyone who criticizes the hypocrisy of certain Christians, especially MAGA evangelicals and Christian Nationalist.

>for basically no reason
It's not "no reason".
I am not Catholic.
The stance of the pope is irrelevant to me.
My ideology or religion is certainly not predicated on some fellow in Rome I've never encountered, spoken with, or otherwise've met.
Even leaving aside the fact that he is actively the head of a religion fundamnetally separate from my own.

> all because your personal political politics demand "Jesus says that everybody must hate the people that I hate and vote for those that I vote for". God help us.
...And now you're contradicting yourself anyway, insisting there's "No reason", while actively giving a "reason", just a shitty one that doesn't exist outside your own head.

Honestly, man, what do you expect to get out of shit like this?
You certainly aren't going to convince anyone by acting like a raging asshole on the internet.

>everything said by the actual Apostles
John Paul II is not an Apostle?
How dense are you?

 No.15613

>>15610
I am not suggesting it's a monolithic religion.
I am suggesting there are many people who make shit dishonest arguments trying to appeal to the religion, ignoring a myriad of other aspects to push their particular agenda, purely for the sake of manipulating those of us who hold that religion.

>MAGA evangelicals and Christian Nationalist.
MAGA doesn't even necessitate Christianity, and is widely regarded as separate.
I am not a Christian Nationalist, nor would I give a flying fuck what anyone has to say about them.

This is a prime example of what I mean.
You do not have an ounce of honesty in your own body.
Why on earth would I give a shit about some dishonest video you've posted?
You're just going to make shit up about me anyways, because I'm an "enemy", and whatever you say  goes for such things.

It's utterly asinine and retarded.
I have no obligation to treat with such people.

Has it really never occurred to you that if you base your beliefs on "I can cause horrible pain and suffering upon victims because I think that God told me to do that" that you've go absolutely no defense against anybody else using the same logic as applied to any other God?

What's to keep, say, me from being a Muslim man who says that Allah tells me to put you into prison somewhere for blasphemy against my prophet?

There's literally nothing you can say in your defense, then, as a matter of appealing to a kind of higher moral principle.

If I'm literally nothing but a chunk of meat with eyeballs attached that you can do anything whatsoever to, provided that "God told me it's okay", then this equally flies right back in your own face. Maybe God tells me to rob you. Maybe God tells me to take over your entire country. Maybe God tells me to end the human race.

If everything is up for grabs, well, then what position has anybody to criticize anything? To make sense of anything? I guess we must ride this crazy train of radicalism into the sunset of the human race as a whole... right?

 No.15617

>>15616
I also still can't even begin to make it make sense that... the Son of Man and Son of God who loves every single human being from the exact moment of conception to the point of natural death... with every human life inherently having sacred meaning and purpose... such that He died on the cross out of atonement in order to rescue everyone... as a truly heroic fatherly figure based on absolute compassion without any limits... the one who experienced intense pain beyond words as a living testament to the very idea that peace and grace are eternal things more important than anything else... the bringer of universal salvation...

Like somehow lying, cheating, stealing, raping, murdering, kidnapping, and whatever else is all exactly what He wants? Because He divides the world between 'the inherently evil' that must be destroyed and the 'inherently sinless' that must be victorious? And He's a sword-waving kind of authoritarian warrior-king meant to sit upon a throne of skulls as He establishes a perfect society?

This isn't Christianity. If anything, it comes across more like radical neo-paganist and occultist utopianism akin to the actual Nazis and actual Satanists who came later. Or maybe highly mutated forms of quasi-communism based around violence for its own sake.

Jesus isn't something like Homelander from 'The Boys'.

Adding all of this nonsense to Jesus is like trying to take the world's most tastiest cake ever baked and then use human feces as icing.

Okay, then.

I feel inclined to still, although you won't listen, ask politely for you to seek help with your mental illnesses and consider how freeing it would be to abandon your extremist politics based on violence. This alternate version of you would be not just happier in every way, being more like normal people, but would have a much fuller, richer life. Just saying. The ethical approach of Jesus Christ in which everybody is believed to be a part of one huge moral family is a lot better than the MAGA approach of categorizing humanity into tiers of relative superiority and inferiority.

"Oh, you disagree with me? YOU MUST BE HITLER!!!!!!!!1111!!!"

You've been doing this for literal years. If it were as bad as you say, surely someone'd've shot you a long time ago. And yet you're still alive. Maybe, just maybe that ought give you introspection. It might give cause to say "maybe this isn't true". But it doesn't. You still live in paranoid fantasies instead.

 No.15639

Is it really so hard for you to understand that normal people don't believe in using violence to make others believe in their politics?

Is there really nothing that can be said to make you 'get' that this is inherently a gross thing to normal people, same as how everything from child molestation to animal abuse to public masturbation to other stuff is just a gross and weird behavior inherently to us?

Like I keep seeing you and people like you say things like "the Jews are the real Nazis" alongside "the homosexuals are the real Nazis" and act like the world's history was somehow reversed from what actually has been happening, and I'm always at a loss. Why can't you live in reality? Is there really no way to pop your bubble?

I've in fact explicitly said multiple times that your insane characterization of me isn't reality.

>Like I keep seeing you and people like you say things like "the Jews are the real Nazis"

Perhaps. As I said, I am not that familiar with Catholics, except that they have a bunch of weird stuff. Also a lot of pedophilia. Either way, not my speed.

Though given it's not the first highly charged video he's made on the subject, I'm even less inclined to take his stance on things, as it appears he's suffering from some extreme TDS.
Between the "Sold their soul" and "they'd crucify Jesus" rhetoric, frankly, they seem about as serious as Alex Jones.

Indulgences are an act of selflessness done as penance for sin. We Catholics believe that saying "sorry" and believing in Christ are the bare minimum to absolve original sin only, and that any further sin requires actual penance both in this world and in the next. During a period of exceptional corruption top ranking members of the heirarchy accepted charitable contributions to the church as a form of penance, but that act of tying penance to financial actions was formally outlawed at the Council of Trent in the 1540s.
