This song thumps.

Do you think youtube, Spotify, ect, ect are justified for trying to censor Kanye West's latest songs? Or is it just another example of overly sensitive people trying to push for censorship in art?

 No.15398

They're private entities, they don't require justification.  Kanye has no doubt released his music on at least a dozen platforms, possibly including one or more he personally owns. I think it is in Kanye's interest to release on platforms even where things are censored.  I couldn't say whether YouTube is losing or gaining from this choice, but either way is probably too small a difference to matter.

Being private doesn't exempt you from criticism.
I can complain about the crazy United Fruit Company schemes, despite them being a company, not a state.

Kanye is just trolling at this point and off his meds.
Honestly, play it if you "become a nazi" because of Kanye you kinda already were one.

The absolute pussification of people in their ability to handle media is sad.

"But it promptes bad ideas" then get better at promoting the "better" ideas.

 No.15401

yeah nazis are scum and they deserve the violence they encourage towards others

 No.15411

There's an ethical difference between a government agency promoting censorship using violence and a private group promoting censorship through business.

Both can be bad, but refusing to accept the difference makes somebody seem (and this word is horrible but fits perfectly) retarded as fuck.

So, say, there's no comparison that's direct between YouTube not promoting Kanye's music versus a public library being threatened to not include his music for free listens in their buildings as a part of their general collections.

My 0.02$ is that private actions are probably so minor as to barely make a difference to anybody, even if I wouldn't necessarily myself do what they're doing.

Private or not it still is censorship, and youtube has been well known to show favoritism with who and who doesn't get to bend or outright break their policies. I firmly believe that if you're going to have a media platform, you should at the very least be consistent. Also HH doesn't technically break any of their policies outright from what I understand. It isn't actually promoting violence or racism.

I haven't listened to it (and don't have any real desire to listen to it).  But I think that major platforms like YouTube and Spotify shouldn't remove his song.  They would justified IMHO for refusing to *promote* it.  But if someone searches for it by name, they should be able to find it and play it.  Huge megacorporations should generally refrain from suppressing speech based on viewpoint discrimination.

I think that, in practical terms, the number of people actively searching for the song won't be that much in relative senses compared to the broad mass of people typing in other things.

At the same time, personally, I agree to the viewpoint that the stuff put out by Kanye shouldn't be suppressed.

It's justified to not advertise it or praise it (since that's making demands of people to go out of their way during their normal lives to do stuff), but it's not justified to go out and delete it as fervently as possible.

we get it OP, you love to virtue signal

Do you think this music is harmful? Do you see people saying HH as a new form of slang? Like skibiddy or yolo?
>someone gets disappoint: "Damn. Heil H*tler"
