After escaping the spider-infested dwarf mines Nazom and Vinifera returned to the harbor town of Riva, along with Thorgrim, Boronia, and Mule-Mo.

VInifera dusted off his robes from webbing and cave dust.
"Well, I'm in no hurry to go back there again anytime soon."

File: 1707667133248.jpg (149.76 KB, 500x480, 25:24, Mule3.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

Boronian heartily agrees. Thorgrim shakes his head "What a shame it had to end that way..."

>takes stock of his inventory
>>23141  I think the spiders liked you

"I understand it was once a great dwarven mining citadel... will it ever be reclaimed by the dwarves in the future?"

"Creepy things tend to come my way."

File: 1707667308355.jpg (72.7 KB, 434x624, 217:312, Nazom.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"Who is to say. Frankly, it was just a small outpost honestly - Perhaps you will see a real town of the dwarfs one day to compare it with! Nevertheless, too many lifes were lost."

((I think you already have a link to my Google.doc character sheet if you need to check it over.))

"It is a sad loss. But with the emerald returned to it's rightful place, things will be at peace down there... more or less."

He scratches his head. "Rightful place, I wonder... those spiders have it. But then, it was cursed anyway. Good riddance."

File: 1707667604603.jpg (22.56 KB, 188x309, 188:309, dwarf2.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

That wizard might have something to do with the ones in the tower.

File: 1707667714548.jpg (16.38 KB, 197x262, 197:262, Boronian Steinhauer.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

Boronian nods. "Yes, it might have been one of them. The wizards there created chimeras, and at least that leader of the spiders was one, too!"

"Yeah... the wizards..."

"It's perhaps an issue we must confront eventually. If they're making chimeras and messing with divine artifacts that cause so much chaos in the dwarven mines, who knows what their ultimate plans are."

File: 1707667979555.jpg (7.31 MB, 4073x5757, 4073:5757, Riva map.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

Eventually you reach the safety of the city walls once more, leaving the wild lands behind you for the time being.

We should see if any of these items might be of use.
>pays Baronian and Thorgrim our of the 200 gold Ducats and then gives the remainder to Vin
>asks Thorgrim to appraise the old dwarven jewelry, if it's noteworthy in any way
>gives the 10 bottles containing powerful spider poison to Vin and Baronian
>hands the two silver circlets without any adornment to Vin
Do you think you can find out what these are?
>passes around the 5 bottles with a strange grey liquid, a small note on the bottles calls it "silkglow".
any idea about these?

So I get
>Two silver circlets
>10 spider poisons (or 5 if shared between me and Baron)
>How much gold ducats?

File: 1707668427601.jpg (89.64 KB, 376x336, 47:42, twi194.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

How much are you paying Boronian and Thorgrim exactly?

Thorgrim appraises the jewels, examining them carefully, letting them slide through his fingers, rumbling and stroking his beard.

"Dwarven work, no doubt about it. And old, very old."

>You were wearing one of the circlets, just to be sure.

Boronian looks at the potions with the rey liquid. "I think should have those examined by professionals."

File: 1707668602342.png (1019 B, 320x416, 10:13, happy_dwarf.png) ImgOps Google

>>23155  (I don't remember what we agreed upon.)
I'll be hanging onto those for the exhibits then.
>takes off the circlet and hands it to Vin
>>23154  (I'm not sure)

(Me neither, it's been too long. You can give the mwhatever you see fit.)

((I can't remember either.))

>>23158  (Let's give them 20 a piece, then Vin gets 160?)

(Sure, if you don't keep any for yourself.)

Boronian and Thorgrim are very happy with their share.

((If they find that fair, then sure.))

"Oooh, money-money, he gave me money."

So that's...
>Two silver circlets
>10 spider poisons (or 5 if shared between me and Baron)
>160 ducats
...for me?

Just making sure befor I update inventory.

>>23160  (correct)

5 spider poisons (Boronian keeps 5)

>>23164  (goes to sell off his pyrite and buy a few more throwing axes)
(what is the Asthenil ore?)

Vinifera was already pretty good on supplies. Nothing comes to mind to buy or sell anything... well, maybe the shoddy wizards disguise but doubt it's worth a hellar.

File: 1707669395973.jpg (42.42 KB, 745x453, 745:453, trader.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"What are you having there, pyrite?"

The merchant examines the other ore... "I've never seen something like that. Where is it from?"

(It's very rare dwarvish ore.)

"How many axes do you need?"

File: 1707669425777.jpg (42.42 KB, 745x453, 745:453, trader.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"I'll pay you 5 hellers for the hat."

"Sure. You can have the lot if you want."

File: 1707669533703.png (50.65 KB, 266x285, 14:15, batdwarf.png) ImgOps Google

>>23168  the finest pyrite you've ever seen!

It's from the dwarvish mines

Depends, how many have you got?

File: 1707669753113.jpg (42.42 KB, 745x453, 745:453, trader.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"Here you go." She pays you five hellers and puts the hat onto a hatrack where it has company.

"Fool's gold is what we call it here. Still, it does have some value. I'll pay you 25 silver for it.

I'll need to ask an expert about that other ore; the local armorer.

As for the axes, it's 50 silver per piece. I'll give you a discount if you take more than one."

He lets her have the rest of the shoddy costume, in case she needs spare material or cleaning rags.

File: 1707669920243.jpg (5.77 KB, 108x142, 54:71, dwarf1.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

>>23172  You drive a hard bargain...  Sold!

No time for that.  Maybe some other time.

I'll take 4.

She nods and pays you for the pyrite, then puts four throwing axes onto the table.

"I'll take 40 silver per piece if you take all four."

"Is there anything else I can do for you?"

>inspects the blades

"I'm alright thanks."
He browse her wears
"What weapons do you have?"

File: 1707670250837.jpg (42.42 KB, 745x453, 745:453, trader.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

She only had regular knifes and daggers and wooden staffs. You'll need to get to a propery weaponsmith for more potent weapons.

"Not many I'm afraid, only daggers and some throwing knifes. Well, and simple axes. You should ask the local weaponsmith."

"I'll pop by, thanks. I might need to trade up my equipment."

>buys the throwing axes
Thank you.

"All the best to you."

"You don't look so well if I may say so - I think you might need a healer."

"We're both been through the ringer after what we've been through."

File: 1707670695256.png (1.35 KB, 128x128, 1:1, dwarf6.png) ImgOps Google

And here I thought a few drinks and a good night's rest were all I needed.
>>23181  Where could I find a healer?

"You seem thoroughly battered. There's a good healer down at the river." She explains the way.

"I suppose... a moment of recovery... will be nice."

"Like... a doctor? Or a spa healer?"

One way to find out!
>goes to find the healer

Vinifera thanks the merchant and goes with Naz.

File: 1707671040399.jpg (18.35 KB, 293x430, 293:430, Healer.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"Oh, he's a proper healer. You need someone to properly clean those wounds and patch you up."

"Ah, here you are again. Goodness, you don't look well at all!" The healer greets as you he looks you over. You have actually been here before.

"Have we been here? I can't recall."

He turns to Naz "Maybe he can identify that grey liquid for you? If it's a poison or an antidote, surely he'll know."

File: 1707671153042.png (25.63 KB, 131x159, 131:159, dwarf8.png) ImgOps Google

>>23189  How bad does it look, doc?

Also we came across this peculiar gray liquid.  Any idea what it might be?

I show the doctor my spider-bites, as well as that time that... I remember something big biting me like an apple.

"Only a couple of days ago in fact. What do you have there?"

"I can give it a look later on. But proper examination takes time."

"You were in quite a bit of combat there. The wounds and bruises need cleaning... are those bite marks? Hopefully they will not infect."

Vinifera shows him his wounds and his 10/37 health.>>23193

File: 1707671529499.png (1019 B, 320x416, 10:13, happy_dwarf.png) ImgOps Google

>>23194  How much will it cost to get us patched up?

File: 1707671605290.jpg (18.35 KB, 293x430, 293:430, Healer.JPG) ImgOps Exif Google

"I think you will have to stay here over night... and it's a good thing you came to me. Some quack would have asked for a fortune and your wounds might have even gotten worse. I can patch you up for 10 gold pieces each."

"Nice! That's a bargain!"

File: 1707671794211.png (50.65 KB, 266x285, 14:15, batdwarf.png) ImgOps Google

>whispers "that's highway robbery"
>>23197  alright then
>hands over 20 gold pieces

"Aw thanks mate, you didn't have to cover my cost. If anything, I should cover yours after all we'e been through together."

"Are these false doctors been causing issues?"

((Gonna have to stop for now as I BRB... unless you guys want to wait for me for half an hour.))

He asks you to lie down and begins to wash and clean the wounds, pusts salves on it which he prepares. He even opens a box with leeches and places a few on each of your legs where they begin sucking blood. "To keep the juices in balance!"

"They have their legal papers, so they can practice their 'art'." he says, then adds another leech.

File: 1707672115849.jpg (79.68 KB, 384x346, 192:173, twi197.jpg) ImgOps Exif Google

((I guess we'll have to stop then, I only have 45 minutes or so left myself.))

>>23200  It's fine
>>23202  I'm going to need plenty of ale after this
((ok, guess we'll stop here then.  until next time))

File: 1707672325934.png (246.36 KB, 618x496, 309:248, twi203.png) ImgOps Google

Thanks for playing!

"Ew.. leaches."

((Thanks for playing.))
