There's a number of smaller ttrpgs I'd love to run. One being Golden Sky Stories, a game about forging relationships and friendships to solve problems (you can see why I wanted this) and Tiny Taverns, a game about running a fantasy shop/tavern/inn in a fantasy world of any sort!

Both are very slice of life like and I think could be quite enjoyable!

 No.19088

Hm... do you have any of these games yourself? Because you could probably play as Games Master through /rp/. It's what Clarity does with his RP threads here. He has the actual game. He tells us how to fill out our character sheet and helps up with the bits we don't understand, and tells us when to dice-roll for our various actions.

From what I read about Golden Sky Stories from https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TabletopGame/GoldenSkyStories
I can imagine RPing as a former veteran soldier to some great war who has been "put out to pastures". Maybe in his middle to late age. Given he's trying to make a new life for himself and help fix problems around him all the while hiding how broken he is.

If that ain't heartwarming character arking with wholesome outcome then dunno what is.

I have physical and digital copies of both systems!

I have personally been a game master for Tiny Taverns and have considered doing so for Golden Sky Stories, only having run adjacent systems and not the game itself.

Well, if you wanna host a game on /rp/, I'd play.

Noice! Curious who else is interested and if there's more interest in the more laze about the town and solve small mysteries style of Golden Sky Stories or the more location focused and solve shop issues style of Tiny Taverns.

Show us the character sheets we need to fill.

I have a vague idea on who to play as from >>19088 but I don't exactly know what a henge is. But I'm thinking a war veteran who has seen some shit, horrors of war and such. Suffering from a degree of PTSD, he's trying to put all that behind him and find some purpose in the world...

Though depends what a henge is, or the setting of the world.

Sure!

Also, yeah, so, the general setting of Golden Sky Stories is a rural village in Japan. And a Henge is a sort of friendly spirit. Think a fox spirit! Sorta the inverse of a Yokai. Though, there's a manual for playing Yokai!
I would be over looking that and focusing more on playing a standard critter/fantasy race or whatever. There's a guide for it and it would be super useful.

For Tiny Taverns, it's built for standard fantasy. Though, I might have to tweak the race features for different fantasy universes depending on which people wanted. That being said, I've seen an entire Mass Effect conversion for Tiny Taverns, so it's mostly a rewording thing.

I kinda think Tiny Taverns would be easier to run on a forum and could even be better for asynchronous play. So, that's the one I'm more focused on. But I tossed out the other because I like it too.

TIny Tavern RP? OK. What;s the main setting to that?
Sounds like we run a bar or something.

So, the core setting is a modified high fantasy world. Magic, dragons, fairies as well as selkies, pookas and firbolgs! There's even a cat people race!
Though, that's the core setting. It's easy enough to change it around for any setting we'd all like to see!

Additionally, the game is normally about running a tavern. But it could just as easily be changed to running a hotel, a bed and breakfast (That's the one I'm currently running), a school or even a whole town!

It can have a sweet simple feel as people run the place and small inconveniences spell to big and fantastic ruin that all kinda wraps up at the end of the day, but it can also have a goofy Regular Show like feel, where the characters are tasked with normal stuff, but fantastic events take it over the top to world shattering nonsense before all wrapping up with a simple solution somehow.

I was thinking we'd probably be doing something more Pony related for it, even running our own Ponyville here on Ponyville! But, honestly, it's whatever the group decides is most fun to them!

Tiny Tavern set in a Hotel reminds me of Guest House Paradiso... though perhaps more tamed.

 No.19098

As for the character sheets... oof! I might need help filling most of it out. Plus depends which one we're doing since I may want to role a different character for Taverns.

 No.19099

>>19097
Haha, you don't have to play it tame, but I can definitely see that!

>>19098
While for Golden Sky Stories, you can kinda build on your own, it's actually quite important to hold off on major character decisions until after the "tavern" is established!

>>19099
If you've seen Guest House Paradiso I doubt I can get away with half the things the Bottom guys get up to.

>>19099
Well, I haven't thought of a full story for my grizzled vet.SImply there was a great war and that he's either been pulled out of it due to losing his edge as a soldier or the war has come to an end and he's retired, but struggling to get his life back to "normal" after the horrors he's witness. Think of it like "All Quiet on the Western Front". I can imagine him offering to help others around town and as others get to know him perhaps offer to help "fix" him.

But Tiny Tavern seens more "contained" given it's about running a business than casual village life.

I'm good with any of the two you wanna RP, though may need to think up someone for Tavern.

I mean, I dunno if that's very THIS site, but man, it's certainly possible.

I'm fine with whichever. :)
