you get used to it, but you are absolutely right, it is an idiotic concept. but when your choices are do your taxes or potentially prison, you learn how to do them (although the likelihood of that is very low unless you do some real white collar shit)

And I thought New Vegas was buggy.
Steam won't let me run F4SE. Says "Can't find argument" every time I try.
I can load F4SE directly from the folder, but no steam controller settings.
I can play FoL itself, but the loading times are long with chances of crashing, can't use the perk menu and dialogue crashes in the game. FoL practically needs FoL to run.
EDIT: I sorta figured it out in the end. I downloaded this mod:
