I found a channel where a British guy reacts to and tries to understand all the the Danish stand-up and cabaret comedy I grew up with.

I'm not amused with a recent update to SteamOS, with flatpak apps blocked from accessing my /home/ directory, hence the missing ISOs from PCSX2. Hours I've spent trying to figure if it was just isolated to Bazzite, but the base system is affected too.

Just not gonna bother with flatpaks at large, until I can sort it out. Meanwhile I'm dragging and dropping images into my browser instead.

I woke up feeling good, which has been a long while since I felt pretty good waking up. It was around midday and, as per our tenant agreement, I had to do a fire alarm test every week with the shop downstairs. I live above an Advent Shop. I figured I'll get it done after a small breakfast and check my messages. As long as I get it sorted before 4pm, it's fine.

I don't just lurk on Ponyville.us, I'm also an admin on the Sonic wiki and been an active admin for the past sixteen years.

But still, of late, I've been doubting my (lack of) activity and judgement as a wiki admin and a user posted a post respectfully pointing out my indecisiveness all the while the thread accuse a user for being another ban evading for having similarities with him and wanted me to ban him.

This didn't trigger my anxiety or feelings of confrontation in any way, but I still figured I needed to give my time to respond to the post. I carefully wrote out why I tend to be inactive and unwilling to speak against people's opinions at times, how I feel conflicted over standing for users freedoms while being authoritative, my concerns over how groups of users are being more persuasive over ideas or individuals they don't for opposing opinions and the like and how I've been feeling as an admin.

After carefully writing and revising my post, I was finally satisfied to post it. And when I was starting to calm down from the brain-power it took to write it, I realised it took me four solid hours to write it and the shop below me was closed.

Oh well, I'll apologize to them tomorrow and do it then.

I can handle some degree of confrontation if I don't regard it at all personal.

Sometimes I do feel confronted and it at times my anxiety grabs it and make me spiral, all the while acknowledging it's a molehill, not a mountain.

In this case, the user wasn't being rude or conferential to me, just pointed out a reasonable issue I've been having, and I responded the best I could. Took me a solid four hours, though, which wasn't intended.

This is why I prefer discussion boards and forums over chatrooms or actual talking. I have all the time I want to choose my words and respond accordingly. Not that I have no problems with IRL casual conversations.

A few.

There's a very Gothic sounding one called The Thing With Feathers wjere a recently widowed painter is haunted by some manner of humanoid crow.

There's also an anthology film with four horror stories based on HC Andersen fairytale that sounds interesting.

The big one for me is probably Good Boy - a classic haunted house kind of deal, but seen from the point of view of the family dog who, true to the old cliche, becomes aware of the haunting long before the humans.

And then there's a French one called "Alpha" all about a disease that turns people slowly into marble.

There are more films on my program, but these are the ones thay have me extra curious and excited

It's finally announced!
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steamframe

I haven't "quit" VR gaming, just I have the sneaking suspicion that Meta has bricked my Oculus Rift S. I haven't heard of anyone else's Oculus Rifts getting bricked, but I imagine they would do it to get customers to buy Meta Quests.

So I've been in the market for a brand-new headset, but not one from Zuckerberg's lot. I was going to get a Valve Index which is just a few months younger than Oculus Rift S, but there have been plenty of rumours of VALVe working on a successor to their VR headset, so I decided to wait. And I'm glad I did.

Can't wait to get back into Blade and Sorcery with it. I also hope to play Obduction with it, I only played it once and the cutscenes wouldn't view in the Oculus Rift S.
There will also be new titles for the Steam Frame as well to look forward to.

I might also get one of these:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steamcontroller
My XBox 360 is on its last legs and needs a replacement. My Sega Saturn Pro controller is fine, but I'll need a controller for more standard gaming. It's either that or an Xbox One Controller.

Given I use Steam for my primary gaming, it makes sense to use Steam products that are optimal for it.

As I recall, it was a horror film

I'm attending the Bloody Weekend horror festival from now till Sunday
Just one today though.

It was called "The Thing With Feathers". Benedict Cumberbatch plays a man whose wife suddenly dies, leaving him with two sons. As he grieves, he repeatedly gets visited by a large humanoid crow who keeps mocking him for his sorrow.

It's less of a spooky scary film and more of a semi-artyst grief drama that does admittedly build up to a horror climax. Pretty good stuff.

I'm hearing "Driving home for Christmas" being played outside, despite today being 10° and sunny.

Well, depending on ones "perceptive of time" I imagine, to me, "too early" is September which some supermarkets are guilty of. But I don't think it hurts that much to get into Christmas early.

By "perspective of time", I mean if you feel a month just flies by for you and Christmas is over before you know it, then sure, start as early as half of November at least.
Americans (Not gonna say some or most given I don't know the ratio) often regard Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, as the start of the Holiday season, which is super-ironic to me.

But if you're the sort of person who regards the month just as important as the day (Such as Halloween-lovers do for October), then you're perhaps regarded the most sane to dedicate December to Christmas.

The Chiefs are my most hated team (division rivals/ had a dominant dynasty for years), so having the broncos beat them was not only cathartic, but also means we are firmly 1st in AFC West, as well as the entire NFL at this time! it's time to BOLIEVE!

yaaaaaaay shitty meetings >< i bet you are so thrilled about the prospect :P

coffee sounds like a lovely idea! and i'll probably watcht that tomorrow, but right now, i'm watching reaction vids and football highlights ^_^

I did a variation though, where I went away from the DC and Marvel superheroes I have done this with so far, and instead picked some various cartoon characters. Got some interesting results so far.

actually the game is about a small polish village that somehow gets caught up in a strange occurence, where the forest around it grows abnormally fast and large around it, essentially trapping everyone inside it; and at the same time, a disease has started effecting people, making them monsterous and hostile. you are a guy who just wants to get out, and his only clue to escape is a picture of a road out of the forest! what's fun is that in the prologue, you control a doctor character that basically robs, kidnaps, and tortures the character you play for the rest of the game, which is a very interesting twist

start doing an iron horse stance every day for 5 minutes, you will gain leg strength like you wouldn't believe!

Unlikely, unfortuantely. Since it's technically a sort of sequel to a novel, Square doesn't actually own the rights. It's one of the main reasons they haven't ALREADY remade it.

But yeah, I played through Day 1 and the introduction parts of Day 2 yesterday and pretty much loved it immediately aside from very minor nitpicks like Aya's movement sped and not all things being super obvious about wether or not you can interact with them.

I don't think it was Cloudflare. They have like 300 redundancy data centers. My information was however stopped at Stockholm suggesting that the redundancy is done within the centers and not from center to center but if someone wiped out entire centers around the world command & conquer style well... that would be ridiculous and mean I would have no access to any other sites.
So it either means that we have some kind of computer virus on our computers (crazy theory) and it sends harmful code in correlation to the site or that the site contains harmful code and prevents transaction via the data center through TCP (not so crazy theory).
The culprit isn't always the first name that pops up on your screen when something goes wrong.

 No.1202055

>>1202054
It's not really a "naop" when you sleep for about eight hours, stay in bed for an hour after waking up and THEN fall asleep for another four.

Pretty clearly my body trying to get something fixed.

Now I am just at the point where when I cough, my abdomen hurts and is sore. And since I just stepped outside for like two seconds to throw some garbage away, my body has been acting as if it is cold even though it isn't for like 15 minutes

It's just one of those "not too sick to do anything, but constantly 2-3 little annoyances wrong that ruin your day"

 No.1202058

Well I sure  as shit am not getting any sleep what with waking up every five or ten minutes since midnight.

Arising it is.

In general, yes.

Throat is still sligtly scratchy, I still get a little sore in my abdominal region when I cough, but that's about it. So I am just gonna keep going with the tea and cough drops.

I'm hoping when I reinstall GMod, TF2, SFM and Tabletop Simulator, it'll turn out Steam has backed up my custom content I've been working on. If not, this will be quite the blow to me.

For example, my Tabletop Simulator game was nearly finished. Practically the "finishing touches" stage. If I lost all that work, it would be extremely difficult to put in the willpower to start again.

It just feels such a gut punch. Both I blame myself and "The universe really doesn't want this" sort of way.

Like, I get it. It's my fault for not backing up and because I'm such a perfectionist/slacker, that the longer I put my time on a project, the likely some reason will lose it. So I'm not entire;y blaming outer forces or anything.

It's just a "familiar defeat" to me that it doesn't give me confidence to start over and accept these "why bother?" thoughts.

I'll see if I can submit my TTS game, but with all the assets and PhotoShop gone meaning I'll have to submit it incomplete, and given I spent my long time on it finishing and perfecting it, that infuriates me.

Maybe you can focus on the one thing you like best and try to re-work it, make it even better now that it's gone  (or most of it).

It's what I should've been doing in the beginning.
Now, it's difficult to put my mindset back to "oh well, try again."

Even all my SFM content is gone. I had some projects that were half-finished, nearly finished and unique models that probably can't come by on the internet anymore.

There goes SFM Epic Mount. He's gone too.

I can try to recreate him, but at this point, why bother?

Money is such a flawed concept if you think about it.

As human beings, we need food, water and shelter, they're essential things for our living. Yet, society put price tags on these. And if you can't afford them, society blames you for it.

You don't see animals paying for food and water, but if we try to return to hunter-gatherer lifestyle, either lands will be privately owned or we'll look like goofs.

I wouldn't be surprised if governments would tax air if they could.

well i can't speak for boat, but i know that in casinos in our area, they have buffets that make holiday meals and are reasonably priced and are really good; so that's what we did, and since we are in the place, we gamble a tad; it's not a standard tradition, but my dad and i like it cause 1. we don't have to clean or make anything and 2. we can hang out and play games

The Legends of Vox Machina is a show created by Matt Mercer and a lot of the folk from Critical Role (a DnD podcast) and it follows the group of mercenaries called Vox Machina who do quests for money and stuff, but the stakes amp up!

i knoooooooooooooow! i'm excited! i'll probably see it this saturday!

Sounds like a good idea then. I've never been to a casino myself.

Hmmm... I see, I don't think I've ever heard of it.

I almost went yesterday, but then I read a chapter of the Silmarillion and it was too late then.

casino buffets are the best value for your buck typically! good food, and typically much cheaper (cause they expect you to gamble your money at the machines)

just be mindful, cause gambling addiction is a real thing and you don't wanna suddenly lose your life savings cause of the chance of glory :P

well if you like DnD/role playing games, you'd like this! it definiely feels like you are watching a dnd groups interpretation of a story! also they don't pull punches, so be mindful of that

the silmarillion! damn, you have my repsect for trying your hand at that!

Nah, I'm fine.

I submitted my TTS project.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3614596872
While it is playable and functions as a game... it is still unfinished. But I am unable to finish the project now that I lost all my custom-made content for the game.

So my choices were either to submit it in its current state, wait until I get my art program back and then re-work on the final content needed while replacing all the custom card designs, which would be even longer, or just give up.

I decided to submit it as it is, warts and all. And all the things intended for it will have to be pushed to the second edition if I ever get round to it.

I don't like submitting unfinished work, but I wanted to finish it before year's end. Given that was no longer possible, I felt it was do or don't at this point.

 No.1202268

>>1202265
I might, but without my PhotoShop files, I don't have the templates and custom content I used to make the game with, so if I were to patch it, I would have to redo all the cards, in which case, might as well make it a second edition thing.

My plans for Sonic:RPBG 2e:
• Rehaul the Green Hill, Desert and Casino Zone Maps.
• Make Labyrinth, City and Industry Zone Maps.
• Re-organize the Skill Cards, make them a clearer layout to understand and less cluttered.
• Replace "Mutant" ability with "Animal ID", where instead of a third Skill Card, Mobians can have a "Beast Card" instead.
• Make over a dozen "Beast Cards", a subgroup of Skill Cards. Such animals in mind are hedgehog, vulpines, echidnas, cats, Chinese Zodiac animals etc.
• More Content Cards incorporating items and concepts from the games..
• Incorporate "Ring Energy" or "Action Points" where every ring collected, playing characters can have energy points used to pull off abilities.

>>1202268
Or, alternatively, I could replace Mobian race card with beast cards. Just take half the abilities I want to keep and have new abilities for each animal... I'll decide it after New years.
