when i go on youtube and go fullscreen to avoid distractions, youtube has added a new downscroll darkpattern. if i scroll down, it shows me suggested videos, eliminating another digital grounding mechanism (downscroll), as well as violating the sanctity of fullscreen mode. this is the last muffin

I'll be honest
Youtube is still in a powerful position.

I have long forsaken cable TV and even classic media to browse the endless amount of content that is on youtube.

It would suck if that comes to an end one day.

But who knows, maybe someway all the content is eventually pay walled
and it would suck.

youtube can't really be casually navigated like it could in the past -- it's more of a rpg-style experience for me where im fighting off various enemies (search suggestions, advertisements not blocked by ublock origin/video suggestions, social media elements, intrusive ui, darkpattern ui design elements, etc.) while trying to find artificats (videos) and to complete a quest
