Every time I find something neat on YouTube, I'm like panicked going through the description and comments to try to find out if it was AI generated. And man that gets tiring, and half the time I can't tell anyway. I want to hate it, but it's very exhausting, and I don't think me hating it is going to stem the tide.

Like this! This released six hours ago. It's nice, I like hearing this. There's like a dozen comments asking if it's AI, because no one can tell, and people would be disappointed, but like it sounds nice!

I've never hated the underlying tech itself, I find it fascinating, but I'm never going to value what it puts out more than something that's a product of a real person nor will I see it as an equal substitute for genuine human self expression.

A 1950s rendition of a classic 70s album is pretty fucking cool ... but is also ultimately just a novelty.

Only thing I dislike is the fully fake stuff... and I had that issue more with reddit than AI anyways.

I think I am more okay with it if they're upfront about it. If someone says "This is something I made with AI." then that jives and I'm okay. There's just too many times that this hasn't been the case and I feel like I got scammed somehow.

ai-generated content will never be as good as something humans create. the trade-off will be human-created originality for something that may fit your unique personality/what you want to experience in any given moment better -- like the difference between the convenience of buying and drinking water from a plastic water bottle vs. drinking water from a hand-crafted glass or earthenware cup
