From a "US" sandwich point of view, I'd classify a hotdog with the meatball sub.
Panini/baguette/bread + (cooked) meat + veggies (optional) + sauce

Technically, that would also include stuff like hamburgers, gyros/kebabs. If you really want, a savoury bagel is part of it as well.
