I just got back from Colorado Springs Comic Con with my friend, and had a blast! I just love the atmosphere and general mirth and joy from nerds enjoying a moment where we celebrate our favorite things!
While I was bummed about Kevin Smith backing out due to schedule conflict, I still got to meet Brian O'Halloran (Dante from Clerks) and Jason Mewes (Jay from Jay and Silent Bob) and both of them were just absolutely lovely people and very friendly, and when I gave them fanart (picture related) they enjoyed it quite a bit! Brian pointed out all the little references I made, and said he was happy to see art that didn't just reference the Clerks animated style; and Jason loved how snarky he was, and loved I added the monkey! And then actually put the picture on his banner!
So meeting those two made me absolutely feel wonderful and grateful for the experience, and I'm just over the moon <3

I went to a horror con when I was like 12 years old once. Met a bunch of actors and actresses, saw the original Necronomicon. Met people like Sid Haig. It was pretty neat.
I'm going to be going to a ponycon soon enough.

Awe, too bad about Kevin. Been there. It sucks, but shit happens.
I mean, aside from the horror film festival, it's not like I end up going to cons a lot. But I do have autographed pictures of myself with Lance Henriksen, Robert Englund and Lloyd Kauffman, so I'll consider that pretty gosh dang cool either way.
But yeah, I do love the con vibe. I can just almost never actually afford to go, or come home with anything extra cool.
Glad to hear they liked the picture. I keep hearing Mewes is very cool after he got clean.
