Let's concentrate exclusively on music either just a)from this year so far or b)from last year.

In terms of broadening our horizons, this seems like a great way to engage in conversation besides just sharing music generally... and we can also try to fight the stereotype in the U.K. and the U.S. that 'recently released music always sucks'!

I'll start with something that's atmospheric and dark sounding heavy metal!

A San Jose based expiremental rock act Xiu Xiu (pronounced like 'shoe shoe') from the early 2000s released an album that's really fucking cool and weird last year, first I've heard from them in over a decade that really sucked me in

That's a piece related to the upcoming movie 'Tron: Ares', which is about AI programs being turned into real paramilitary agents sent out into the world on secret, nefarious missions! The film comes out in October of this year!
