>>1196926I'm not exactly remotely a KPop fan, but I did enjoy that opening number.
And at the very least, the lyrics of "Your Idol".
Movie's fun as hell either way tho.

>>1196927i wouldn't say i'm a big KPop fan, but i do enjoy it when i get the chance. My personal fave at the moment is TWICE
Your Idol is so damn good! and the fact that it reached no.2 on spotify in america definitely is ironic!
I think i personally loved This is What It Sounds Like and Golden myself; but all the music is fucking awesome!
are you a Rumi, Zoey, or Mira stan?

>>1196928I just like that, for as sinister as Your Idol is, it basically highlights that what they're doing isn't actually particularly differeny from the way MANY bands get big or keep their audiences hooked. The line between fandom and cult-devotion is THIN, and while it's a little on the nose, it's cool to see pointed out like that.
Mira, duh.
Although I kinda wanna hang with Zoey, she seems fun.

FIT CHECK FOR MY NAPALM ERA!
Zoey would be such a fun person to hang with <3

>>1196932Pfft, couldn't be me. I wouldn't know anything about being susceptible to the attractive, soul-sucking demon singers hypnotizing their audience into adoring them. Not in this fandom, no siree.
I wanna get in on that couch week with Zoey and Mira, for sure.
Rumi can go be a workaholic elsewhere.

Oh, I did hate the Japanese yokai show of Stitch.
Anyways, this cartoon song is absolutely expected from me as well

Alsp, I think a song 'slaps' when it's got a real infectious groove and/or riff that kinda makes you wanna or actually dance.

>>1196946I love tracks that sound like the melody is being passed around the entire rhythm section is momentarily playing hot potato with it
Or just any set of instrumental combination like on this track

>>1196948Okay okay okay so 🙌
In most forms of rock and pop music, the band is divided into 'lead' and 'rhythm' section, follow me so far? Okay so the lead section, typically the lead singer and lead guitarist play the song's 'melody' the thing the listener perceives like a "line" of connected notes that all harmonize with the rhythm section (for the most part). While the rhythm section consisist of all the other instruments reapting something in harmony with the lead section at given points, the drummer playing drum patterns for different sections of the song, the bass player playing a looping patterns that might change up with different sections of the song and the rhythm guitarist and/or other instrunents being used as part of the rhythm section, playing repeating melodic phrases and often called 'riffs' or play the chords in the songs' overall chord progression, to the beat, or in it's own rhythmic pattern. Okay and, the 'groove' of a song refers to the overall product of the rhythm section, the 'back and forth' between all parts of the rhythm section, with the bass line in particular being considered the 'backbone' of the song.
What I love about that Oingo Boingo song and that Beck song is that they both have these satisfying moments when the lead drops out and all the rhythm instruments momentarily pick up the melody, each contributing only one or two note at a time to keep melody going for a bar or two. It happens during the Chorus of 'Get Real Paid' It's just something I find really cool and infectious.
