It's 98 days till Halloween, but it's 0 days till CHRISTMAS!!! (in July)
so on this most festive of Holidays, let's have a Chatroulette to throw caution to the wind, and see what is in our stockings this fine day!
rules are simple! roll a 1d10 die, and do/answer the prompt you land on!
(to roll a 1d10, type <1d10> but replace <> with [] )
Let the jingle bells roll!
1. What is your most christmas movie moment you've ever experienced?
2. What would make you happy to recieve today, whether it be from friends, family, or santa?
3. Uh oh! santa is too sick to fly his sleigh! Chrismas will be ruined! What will we do?
4. What is your go to christmas song/album?
5. What do you mean christmas is in December? y'all are crazy!
6. What was the best gift you ever gotten on christmas?
7. what was the worst gift you ever gotten on christmas?
8. What just feels like "christmas" to you? could be anything, like jingle bells, snow, reindeer, the word christmas on the screen!
9. What is your favorite christmas meal?
10 *mistletoe hangs above us* uh oh! how odd! we seem to find ourselves under the mistletoe ;)
so let's start rolling!

>>1196654>8. What just feels like "christmas" to you? could be anything, like jingle bells, snow, reindeer, the word christmas on the screen!I suppose just snow in general. Granted, snow doesn't always have to be associated with Christmas, just as, say South Park, has snow in almost every episode but doesn't make it a Christmas show.
I believe the tradition of snow for Christmas (AKA a "white Christmas") originated from
A Christmas Carol which was written during the Little Ice Age, winters in the UK were so cold that the Thames in London was frozen solid enough for frost fairs were hosted.
While parts of the UK often gets white Christmases, I simply never had one. The closest I ever had one was a white Boxing Day.
Heck, it just rarely snows where I currently live now, which is by the coast. I remember last winter it did snow... for about three whole minutes! Bt wasn't enough to settle, let alone evenly cover the ground.
I dunno, it would just be nice to have a "stereotypical Christmas" for a change. Though given I am in my late-thirties, the "magic" it would have would be less efficient for me.

>>1196657as somebody who lives near South Park, i can safely say it doesn't stay snowy year round, although depending on the day, snow can come even in summer at higher elevations
ooh i didn't know that about White Christmas! that's wild! that little ice age really effected a lot of christmasy stuff!
come to colorado, and you can have a white christmas ^_^

>>1196659It did. "A Christmas Carol" practically set the stereotype of Christmas, with the snow practically being an understatement of the book than regarded traditional. So the Little Ice Age pretty much set the bar of ideal White Christmas.
In fact, there was a time when Christmas was falling out of fashion and popularity in the 19th century. "A Christmas Carol" played a significant role in reviving and popularizing Christmas celebrations in Britain and beyond. While Dickens didn't invent Christmas traditions, his novella helped reshape how the holiday was viewed and celebrated, emphasizing themes of charity, family, and goodwill.
Christmas would probably be regarded a second-rate holiday like Easter or Valentines if it were not for Charles Dickens.

>>1196683Having a snowball fight with my uncle and one of my younger cousins at my grandma's place. I must have been 10 or 11 or something.
Contrary to what people believe about Denmark, we don't often get that perfect winter snow that is actually any good for snowmen or snowballs. But this year, we did.
And I distinctly remember running around outside with my uncle and his younger kid, having a lighthearted snowball fight shortly before the family dinner. It had gotten a bit dark by then, so it was mostly the lights from the windows of my grandma's little house lighting up the yard.
