eh, the internet is no longer uncharted territory. i have had to develop an entire meta-system in order to interact with it. perhaps the most important tool has been prioritizing pen and paper and viewing anything that happens online or on a digital device as being less important

so, i can question the origins of any given thought process, and if it originated online it can be granted a low-priority status. thus, the internet is seen as a meta-extension of oneself and therefore data related as also a meta-extension ...i.e.: an irrelevant fantasy

this knowledge in hoof, the internet virus is also detectable in people in real life. in any given social situation, one may ask: did this person's thought originate from themselves or from an internet meme? if meme, the person's thought may be safely de-prioritized

I don't think smart devices are inherently bad, though I do think the idea of user control and ownership needs to be appreciated more. Not just by corpos (who obviously only appreciate end users as far as they can extract profit from them), but by the users themselves.

I'm not a big Pewdiepie fan, but he did a pretty interesting video on this. Not just in the context of smart devices, but on cloud accounts and freer alternatives.
