I'm trying to distinguish between groups of criminals with a 'scary name' and singluar dudes with a 'scary name'.

Like: "the Winter Hill gang" that murdered all those women in Boston versus "the Phantom" that murdered all of those Texas women.

Probably not wording it that well, though.

I looked it up. It's Vance Boelter, the shooter in MN. Some streamer invented the title for clicks. Vance used to work for a mortician and morticians sometimes remove eyes from donors. Nobody else calls him that and I doubt he ever touched any eyeballs.

Not a man, but one of the few historical Danish serial killers that gained a lot of notoriety was a woman named Dagmar Overbye.

Back in the early 1900s, where some poor families might give away their kids for adoption to whoever would take them along with whatever money they could scrape up to ensure the kids got decent lives and they could provide for themselves going forward, Dagmar killed a total of 16 infants (though "only" 9 were proven), getting rid of the bodies in ways that include dumping them in sewers or putting them in her buildings furnace. She's basically the reason we ended up creating a folk register.

She has tow nicknames. The lesser known one is "The Human Beast from Enghavevej" - the much more well known one is "The Angel Maker".

I'd say that's a hell of a scary name.

Social media related people in America and Britain should stop making up quasi-badass names for murderers such as "the Phantom of Texas" or "Jack, the Ripper" or the "Eyeball Extractor" or whatever. Even if, as both of us know and have said, this does mean "clicks" and the like.

I propose that the next famous murderer from either of these countries be called something like "Whiny Loser of the Plains" or even "The Loser Who Wets His Pants".
