The 45 Auto is a really good round if you ask me. Technically, submachine guns that use that cartridge are considered out of date for modern military engagements. But I have a theory that if we took a tip from the Israelis and their uzis was 9 mm, we could maybe make a 45 ACP submachine gun that is so much of a bullet hose with such a nice firing rate that it brings back the 45 ACP against armored components.

I keep telling myself that an Uzi makes sense in a military engagement because it doesn't really matter how much armor you have on, 3 seconds on the trigger aimed at your plates and nothing penetrates but you die of internal bleeding. That was kind of the vision I had when I was thinking about getting a 45 ACP submachine gun.

The Kriss Vector looks like a pretty good modern adaption. I'm not sure if it would do well in Ukraine, and I think I would much prefer to trust my life to an assault rifle around. I just don't think making 45 respectable again is all that bad of an idea  


Also, if it's a question between a 9 mm Glock and a 1911 in 45 ACP I'm going to go with a 10 round Glock in 45 ACP.



I guess in theory, I can go in Ukraine and fight with a 45 ACP sidearm and submachine gun and just use the same cartridge for both. In theory. Those Ukrainians won't know what hit them.

I have 45 ACP tattooed and blue ink on my left hand. I tend to see that tattoo early in the morning to remind me of how to deal with a bear problem.
