So I have a little debate the other day about which English County has the best flag and I was all about Buckinghamshire because come on, it's a Swan. How can you beat that?

But which you think looks best? And for that matter, which looks worst?

 No.1180385

I've always been partial to Durham's flag, but that's likely due to seeing it the most often. Might be fun to spend an hour or two rating them all objectively

Rutland is cool.

Its one of the newest ones. Most are 100+ years old, but Rutlands was only made in 2015. They did a good job mind, given it does look rather old.

Unlike South Yorkshire which is also a new flag but looks new and plastic and bad.

Staffordshire looks pretty cool with its pretzel.

Gloucestershire or Derbyshire I like the least. Blue/green is a bad color combo.

When it's dark blue and green, it works better.

But these light varieties the flags have... no.

What' up with the looong lions.

Anyway, Buckinghamshire has the chained up goose, so big score for intimidation.

also, Befordshire is a reference to demolition man.

Well lions are the national animal of England.. despite not being native

So they are pretty popular in the older symbols and flags

That and the looooong lion was a part of the very first official royal standard of England from the 1400s

tough decision, but i would say it's between berkshire, cheshire, county durham, gloucestershire, hertfordshire, isle of wight, north yorkshire, nottinghamshire, rutland, and worcestershire

Gloucestershire for sure. Flags like this a very much appealing because of the simple design. I think flags with stuff in them look bleh
