I don't think there's any significant amount of stress over not having euthanized the disabled.

I was moderately autistic as a kid (it's faded a bit with age) and I never got that impression. Parents who resent their kids to that extent don't deserve them.

Generational hate has always been a thing, it is more prevalent now due to the hyper-consumption of media, and the rhetoric used by said media

Conditioning from media that promotes child-free lifestyles as well as real social-economical factors that have only grown more dire in the last decade preventing people from having stable finances, as well as, the permeating belief that nothing will ever get better, thus creating an aura of pessimism.

It is less detested in modern parents than in previous generations. It is seen more in modern times due to access to media and our ability to detect abnormalities in utero.

In pain
Unable to care for themselves
Unable to enjoy life to the fullest
Are financially bankrupting their family.
etc.

I do wonder specifically why so many people can claim to be devout Christians while committing child abuse, but then it seems like nothing more is happening than those people just being willing to discard their beliefs out of anger.

Same as anybody breaking any moral code if they just give in to strong emotions. Like somebody using illegal drugs. Or stealing. Or anything, really.

Still, like, the fact that most older Americans always have and always will think of disabled people as being inferior and will always will believe that we shouldn't exist is a bitter pill for me to swallow, even if it's the objective truth.

I wish there was some way to make American parents as a group less... just... asshole-ish.

Probably has something to do with all the people who are laboring under the delusion that times are hard and now is not the time to raise children because they've been lead to believe that the world is overpopulated, the climate and nature are about to collapse etc. etc. etc. When in reality we are living in the most peaceful and prosperous period in all of human history.

People can claim to be anything I find it irrelevant to point to personal claims of belief in evaluating this.

This seems like personal trauma that you should seek therapy for.

Americans as a group are leagues better than people give them credit for due to the xenophobia and self-loathing that is fashionable to hurl at Americans.

You're always so incredibly negative about these things. Like, sheesh, not all 35+ people are abusive to the younger generations and are so frequently abusive to people with disabilities.

As a millenial, I kind of still get the impression, we're pretty down with gen Z and perhaps even gen alpha.
We're the generation where attention for neuro diversion and other aspects has shown up.

That being said, as a parent, you do hope your kids are going to grow up and be able to be their own person some time.
It's neat to see a kid grow up and get a life of their own eventually.

And yes, it can be pretty harrowing when they get into a situation where you realize they will never be able to stand on their own and are forever tied to you. It's a drain on resources and your energy.

This is relevant to me more than one might ever realize.
