> Pacing through the supermarket, realising you can get perfectly fed on samples
Small croissants for breakfast, pieces of sausage and crisps for lunch. A cup of wine for the taking.
I miss pre pandemic shopping.
A store I frequent used to have bits of meat and bakery goods on display for tasting, but since the pandemic they no longer do that.
I did once get a bit overboard tasting all kinds of samples, but this is just a thought. I never actually fed myself on samples.

>>1174432Mostly it comes down to coupons being more virtual now than they used to be, often just tied to whatever rewards card. If you can get access to a bunch of those cards, then you can just scan them into the Stocard app, to not have to walk with an absurd wallet full of plastic (incidentally it also works for cards that are in apps, you can roll it all into this one convenient place). And then, no "special price for X items only per card" can stop you. Except if you have to actually activate the coupon for it to work since then there's that extra step, but I'm sure you can figure it out.
But yeah it's probably best to do self checkout when dicking around like that, heh. Saves everyone the headache - you of having to explain to the cashier what it is you're doing, the cashier of having to listen to it and then do the Savings Rituals correctly.
And speaking of, depending on how the coupon works (in particular if there's a barcode or QR code to scan to apply it) you can probably just take a picture and scan that from the phone. This is another excellent reason to do self checkout, it saves the awkwardness of having the cashier figure out if that move is Okay To Do.

The fact that in order to get a decent "Value" out of eating from fast food places I would need to subscribe to shit apps and use coupons I would just rather eat at home for a quarter of the price.

I had a flat tire recent and was stuck on the shoulder of an expressway, unharmed but unable to safely exit the vehicle. I called my insurance's roadside assistance and was charged 175$ for a tow ... and they called 911 so police could help me slowly escort my car to a parking lot in a shopping center just off the exit.
The police showed up before the tow truck and escorted me at 20 mph to the parking lot, where I preceded to *immediately* cancel the roadside assistance and change the tire for the spare myself.

>>1174453>but good on you for using the cops to yoru advantage! saved you that $175 that you certainly would have to pay to get your tires replaced (unless it was just a simple pop and didn't damage the wall)Actually it was one, then the other.
Drove over a nail in the parking lot at work and it punctured the tread so it would have been a simple patch job. Ih ad a closing shift a didn't feel like trying to change it in the middle of the dark so I used a can of fix-a-flat. The next day, the side wall popped when I was on my way to the mechanic to get the thing patched, but you can't patch a popped sidewall so it meant buying a new tire, which I discovered when I changed the tire during the day. It cost me 200$ for the new tire plus installation, so that sucks, but on the upside, if the cop hadn't shown up first, then in total it would have cost me 375$
