Well it appears the winter has finally passed, and with that the days are becoming warmer and it feels like life is already much busier than before.

It might be the ending of winter, the warmth of spring, or the familiar songs I heard when showering but somehow it feels the days are more nostalgic and familiar to me. Both the good times, as well as the trials.

With all that going on I have to remind myself as well as I remind others to take time to relax, have a nice warm drink, and feel at ease to talk about what's on your minds. So I welcome you all once again to join in and consider this a welcoming space for all

Ah, too bad. Andor's quite good though. It's like the one good thing to come out of the recent Disney crop of stuff, and it mostly achieves it by being very unlike your regular Star Wars stuff. If only it didn't more-or-less endorse accelerationism, I'd be even more comfortable recommending it all over the place

I haven't either. I still haven't even watched the prequel trilogy. I just know what happens there through osmosis.

But that show is good. It doesn't need the "Star Wars" aspect to be a crutch towards being good.

I have discovered that the Nongshim in red packets isn't actually Nongshim Red. Now, you might be surprised, given that Nongshim Black is black, but Nongshim Red is... black. And so the Nongshim that I tried last was actually the "Gourmet Spicy" regular one, not the "Super Spicy" Red.

I've now made up for that oversight. Pschew that's one way to get a runny nose. It's pretty good though, just perhaps a bit too hot for me... though it's not actually THAT much more spicy than what I had the last time.

I'm not sure! It's got some good to it, but it's certainly not living up to its potential. Can't be all "pretty good pretty good pretty good I recommend" with the games I mention though.

I can say way more, or just tell of the gigastraw that broke the camel's back for me (enough for me to decide it's bad enough to go around anti-recommendng it). But what's this about the agony and the like?

I think scishow touched on this. They were growing algae in watertanks in the wall in som cities as an experiment. Trees wouldn't work for a few reasons, but the algae was cost effective and didn't take as much room/resources per square foot.

So not totally off!

>>1166237

Huh. That was real? I've seen some Genius Takes about algae in vats and it was always the same picture and always the same caption, posted to always the same reaction, to the point that I assumed it was just made up ragebait.

Anyway, algae wouldn't work so good for this scheme because with algae you need the infrastructure to keep it. Trees you should be able to just plant wherever, just with an empty spot, and extending it would be easy if you could get saplings off of already having some trees around. Also the point would be to have an excuse to have more trees around. The whole "helps with urban climate regulation, provides shade, just looks nice and is good for people's mental health" bit is often just not cutting it. My city is actually pretty good about it, but I'm thinking of other places.

Anyway, I think the algae tanks are cool, but more of an arts-installation than I was thinking of.

Hmm, are these to serve for aesthetic design?

Or do people hope to keep algae around for their use to create Oxygen?

Cause in the end, I suppose you can't have too much oxygen around. Erh, Stone Ocean not withstanding.

>>1166243

I honestly don't know. Up until now I assumed they were probably made up, since when people link it it IS usually phrased as "they have made tree replacements so we can get rid of trees entirely! Hooray for the boring dystopia we live in!". I'm basically just looking them up properly now.

At this point I'm still thinking "art project" though (so, aesthetics but also I guess some artsy message), what with it always being this one tank in every picture I've seen. But the quotes from the creators have them put forth the idea that it's intended as a thing to absorb the pollution in polluted areas, as the algae handle that better than trees. I don't have an opinion on how viable that is though (and whether it's a real thing or an excuse to have the city do some cool arts installations).

>>1166242

It is pretty! My concern is if they can keep the algae from forming strands, since then it'll start to look like a very badly maintained aquarium. But while it's just Green Water, it looks quite neat.

Especially when they light it up at night!

It's not a good night... I'm really achy, sore, tired. Followed the doctors suggestion and it didn't work so now I'm taking more drastic measures. :coco3:

My partners are both sick on top of going through absolute hell right now, and theres nohin I can do for them except be by the phone if they need me. Which isn't nearly enough :trixie1:

I hope this passes soon.
