While I don't think we should encourage people necro-ing old threads for the fun of it, I don't think we should have an issue with it, even if it is necroing the last thread on the board, when a reply on topic is made.
At least when it is not purposely to cause trouble.

For linked reply, I see user got a warning, but I think the reply wasn't out of line.

For the record, can moderation read the final post and react only if it is out of line?
Or you can correct me if I'm wrong here.

Also, for Ponyville as a whole, please don't be that much a stickler for the rules.

I assume the post might have been reported as necro-ing.
While formally true, I would argue that it shouldn't be that much of an eyesore, especially since the board is slow.

Or did I miss the same guy bumping up multiple threads at once?

I don't think it's really a warning in the sense that anyone was in trouble. It's kinda just good manners not to necro things because it confuses people and generally doesn't bring much in terms of content.

I wasn't the one who left the note on the post, I'd have probably just let it be myself. But I don't really see a problem with it having been left either.

I don't even think necros are against the rule, so there's nothing to be sticklers about here. Just telling people it's probably best not to randomly bump threads from half a year ago, which seems like NBD to me.

Also, lol @ canterlot being so quiet nobody on staff even saw this thread for a week. Maybe I'll add a trigger on this board to notify staff when a new thread is created.

This site is slower than most, so can we get a ball-park timeframe of how old a thread has to be for it to be a "necro" to post in it?

I dunno, probably depends on the thread. Like, if it is your own thread, I don't think it is much of a problem to bump it. If it is just some random thread without much purpose, just remake it if it is more than a week old. If it is a very specialized thread of some sort, one which is very recognizable in purpose, I guess use your discretion and try not to bump something over a month old unless you feel it really couldn't be remade.

Keeping track manually has doubled your number of eyes.  Good work.

Without me making trouble for the staff, they have to find things to do.
Maybe you could post some porn or something.

wouldn't you like that?

We probably all would, we're just too polite to say it out loud.
