Ya know?
The one thing I remember from Nightmare Night is the Source Film Maker video on it.

>>1212599Mysterium, Sequence, Betrayal ar House on the Hill and a fourth one I forget which was all about recreating picture with exceedingly simple props to help the other players guess which one you recreated.
>>1212600The Lightkeeper, an about 90-minutes long game about a man who takea a lighthouse keeper job in 1925, finding out there's something evil underneath it.
And then Tenebris Somnia - a retro pixelated horror game about a young Argentinian woman going to hand her movie maker ex boyfriend her key to his apartment... and finding the whole complex crawling with monsters.
I've been psyched about this one for a while, especially since all the cutscenes are done in amazing live action. It finally came out the other day, I played the first two hours and it's as fantastic as I hoped.

>>1212605Yeah, only my third time playing, and I love it. The Betrayals are quite creative, too. I keep wanting to just read the Survival Guide for fun just to see what kind of shenanigans can happen but that would ruin the fun
No.1212607
If I was more of a YouTube gamer, which is something I've been considering for next year, I have a few "spoopy games" in mind that I believe would be fitting for Halloween.
MediEvilA game that involves sorcery, monsters and undead, and set in a British kingdom of Gallowmere with cemeteries, castles, villages etc. It's also rather cartoony which makes it not really a horror game but suitable for the Halloween theme.
Pumpkin Jackhttps://www.headupgames.com/game/pumpkin-jackA game similar in style to MediEvil, with a punpkin-head scarecrow with a scythe and other weapons. Very vibrant in colours and spoopy in theme.
BloodBorneLeaning more onto the Spooky-side than Spoopy-side, but set in a gothic city around dusk or night, with enemies ranging from familiar (zombies, werewolves etc) to monstrous, it seems the more fitting of Halloween for the Souls series.
Sinister Halloweenhttps://store.steampowered.com/app/747690/While it is a VR game, it is possible to play it as a standard game with keyboard. If you're like me and use an XBox Joystick to play first-person games with, you may need to use Steam's controller settings to map out a control scheme you're comfortable with.
You pretty much play as a trick-or-treater who gets involved in a series of horrorifying events throughout the night. If you want to play a Halloween-theme game but with an edge of genuine horror to it, this would be ideal.
I also know plenty of Sega horror games such as
Laser Ghost, Night Trap, Decap Attack, Splatterhouse series,
Mr. Bones, Rise of Nightmares and of course,
The House of the Dead series. They're all good for the season.

No.1212609
>>1212608No, I meant, reading all the scenarios just, for my own fun. Without playing.
But part of the fun is having no idea what kind of shenanigans are gonna happen, hence the randomization. So I won't.
On that note, I had my own little moment of mild inspiration for the start of a horror story, so maybe I should try making another super-short game sometime...

>>1212716now that i've watched it, i can understand! i'll probably be thinking about it for at least a week!
>>1212717it was ungodly unnerving!
the premise is that the grandmother of a family passes away, and the family tries to return to a sense of normalcy after that, when some odd things start to happen. Then after a very specific part which i won't say cause it's spoilers, the family really begins to unravel. The mom begins to lose it trying to connect things, the son is experiencing awful things, and the dad is trying in vain to keep things together
i can't really say too much cause it's inherently spoilery, but it's very supernatural cult worship and psychological horror at the expense of a family basically doomed from the start
very good! while i didn't find it "scary" (although it did have some real good scares) it was deeply unsettling and upsetting. there is a lot that just felt like somebody was digging out my gut with a rusted knife and i wanted to walk out of the room
overall, very damn good!

>>1212876>TTS for future SFM projects.Well, ever since 15.ai is discontinued, I've been looking for AI-TTS that's easy-to-use, straight-forward and no catches.
I tried 101soundboard, but I think it's policies means I can't use it for a wide range of things, plus there's token limits.
I tried DeepPonies on Google Collab, but it's bugged and didn't work for me.
So I came back to haysay.ai and found out they added a new "Moss TTS" module to it that has TF2 voices so I'm going to use that.
When it comes to AI-TTS resources, I wish there's more sites like haysay.ai, no sign-ups, no terms of use, just straight-forward generative use and download.
>Adaptive Joysticks with 8BitDoAlso, last night, I sent an email to 8BitDo, they make specialised gaming controllers for consoles and PC. I told them about my XBox Adaptive Joystick problems and asked them if they would consider making such controllers in the future, 8Bitdo uses Hall Effect sensors over potentiometers so you know it's good. They replied to me saying they gave my feedback to the team.
Of course, it's likely just a polite response and 8BitDo may do nothing with it, but I'm satisfied with the response.
My Steam Controller is just fine as it is for regular gaming on Steam, but if I ever need a back-up controller for regular PC gaming, I may buy from 8BitDo than XBox. The fact 8BitDo uses hall Effect sensors for their thumbsticks is a huge selling point for me, given the last two XBox controllers I had ended up drifty.

Currently making a few lines with it, but we'll see how it goes.
But, again, I wish there are more sites like haysay.ai for other franchises. Such as Team Fortress 2 and Sonic. I appreciate how minimal and straight-forward haysay.ai is.
>XBox controllersBack when I used to play XBox 360, I never had the problems before. So I don't know why inr ecent years XBox controllers are drifting on me. I can't say it's because I've not been storing them properly given I've placed them down how I normally would.
But all-in-all, Hall Effect thumbsticks are superior to potentiometers.

Then there was Spooktacular, where we play movie monsters bursting out of theater screens to try and eat as many movie goes as possible before the police arrives.
For movies, my friend has never seen the Frisay the 13th films, so we're going through them and watched Part 2. Plus Urban Legends for some.90ies slasher fun. As well as Man-Thing. which was pretty terrible, not even in a fun way.
We did see one I mever saw before, namely "The Ugly" - a 90ies serial killer drama from New Zealand all about an interviewer trying to understand an incarcerated killer's mind and backstory. It was pretty dang good.

Had a bit of a shitty day.
Last night, went to bed around 10-11 which is way earlier than when I usually go to bed.
Woke up at 4, so decided to go online for an hour. Went to bed around 5.
Mostly lied there until 7, decided to get up and begin the day.
Took the trains to my old hometown, end up waiting on a freezing platform for awhile as our next train got ready.
when I got there, I was feeling off all day.
McDonalds, I went to use their toilet, which isn't the norm for me given I usually hold it in until I get home, but my body needed to poop. It was fairly clean, but I could tell it was recently been used. Even after washing my hands, was concerned I may end up catching something.
I couldn't even finish my breakfast wrap and McD's wraps are usually my fave.
I couldn't get my controller repaired, so I had to throw it away. Got Mum a birthday gift and such.
Given I just wasn't feeling up to it, we decided to take an earlier train home. Was eventually sick behind the train station.
I can't remember when we got home, but went to sleep because I was tired from it all. When I woke up, it was nightfall.
Now I'm going to have a small dinner. My appetite is back, but don't feel like a meal. My throat is still a bit sore from throwing-up the breakfast wrap earlier. Though, given sitting in the cold for hours, I wouldn't be surprised if I may come down with something.

When I was a kid, the primary school I attended was a bit far away given where I lived at the time had no local school. So I had a scheduled taxi to bring me to and from school every day. I remember seeing the welsh countryside and woodlands on the side of the road. These days I get car sick, but it's hard not to ignore the surrounding rural area of fields, hills or woodlands when I'm a passenger in a car, bus or train travelling through Wales.
Anyway, 3pm, my sleeping schedules have become messed up of late. I woke up from a dream.
>The dream.
I dreamt me, my third-eldest-second-youngest brother and two others were in the back of a car. There were no back seats so we were just sprawled out, the window open as we passed trough Welsh countryside. They were messing about at my expense but not bullying or the like.
With the window open, an owlet swooped in and landed on my brothers shoulder. It was white, round and had black beady eyes. For a wild owl, it seemed tamed. My brother bragged how he was "good with owls" and I was a bit jealous. So I sprinkled some crushed walnut on my shoulder and said "hup-hup!" and the owl flew over to my shoulder. I found it was very friendly, it didn't mind being petted.
(I assure you, it was much more cuter and feather-fluffy than my bad MSPaint picture.)
As the car came to a halt, the owl flew out the window. I went outside to look for the owl. There was a suburban street nearby with two houses and went looking around there calling out "Hup-hup!" and "Pearl!", given that was the name I decided for it, given it was white and round like a pearl and it's eyes were like black pearls.
Given I couldn't find the owl, I presumed it returned to the wild and I went back to the side of the road, only to find the car with my brother has gone. I had the feeling that I missed my ride, or that my ride wasn't coming. It was then Pearl returned and landed on my shoulder, which cheered me up.
I decided to walk home, thus the dream went rather liminal as I walked down a country Welsh road while it was getting dark, with Pearl as my only company. Thankfully, I had a pocket torch with me. Given lack of cars and pavement I decided to just walk on the road, that if I heard any oncoming traffic I could just stand aside or ask for a ride.
For some reason, we came across about three turkeys in the road. Why turkeys, I do not know, given other than turkey farms, they're not native to Britain. Getting hungry, I tried to chase one down, even grabbing it in a bush. But it slipped around me and escaped, though what I would've done to it after catching it, I don't know.
Me and Pearl continued down the long road until we eventually reached a town with a convenient store. Given I had no phone on me, I went in to ask for help, only to find my mother and younger sister (which I don't have IRL, I only have older brothers) there who were overjoyed to see me, thus the dream ended well.
