Do you ever think about the fact that the relation between "cow" and "boy" in the word "cowboy" is completely different from the relation between "cat" and "girl" in the word "catgirl"?

It's because cows are seen as food whereas cats are seen as pets.

I should also add that it's cat-girl (girl as opposed to boy) because cats are seen as feminine whereas catboy is seen as an interesting twist (ex: wat is a cat that is a boy like, if a cat is seen as feminine), similar to cowgirl (ex: wat is a cow-dominator that is a girl like, since girls wear dresses and like flowers)

perhaps the english language requires an understanding of social and systemic inequality in order to be understood? ex: inequality is implied and expressed in the structure of the language itself -- not just how it is used ...that means societal inequality must run deep
