whinnycity (theme: renaissance faire; june)
sunshineponycon (new con; theme: none -- beach, susnhine(?) (august))
ciderfest ((top-tier) (november))
....all requiring relatively long drives & hotel rooms (as well as $)
am glad there is still interest and r still ponycons around (and new ones still appearing), tho
....but with the seeming increasing degeneracy of the fandom, everypony in the fandom being poor, and it never really becoming a countercultural movement, should remaining old-timey ponies just all become monks?
