[#Open] [#Semi-canon] [#OCs Welcome] [#Chill] [Cross-over Welcome] [#Adventure??]

In the middle of a small town square there sits a large library that is open twenty four hours a day, year long.

It is large, but not so large as to get lost if one goes wondering. In the back there are many long halls with all sorts of books, from all over over Equestria, with many tables and chairs placed throughout for easy reading sessions.

Near the front of the library is a unique room that has been soundproofed, so as not to disturb the rest of the libraries guests, and has been designed as a hang-out spot for any pony who does not wish to research or relax in the back.

It has been spruced up with large tables and plush chairs, a vending machine in the corner, and an espresso set-up with free coffee and many varieties of tea.

It is in this room that many a pony denizen seems to find themselves on this bleak, cold, and rainy day.

Epic was really just looking for a place to get out of the rain and found the back way into the room.

"Manure! It's coming down hard. Hopefully nopony mind if I wait here until it eases up."

His hooves felt heavy as they clicked against the cement. The blanket he wore offered protection to his chest, but did nothing for his cold neck.

Well, he thought. At least my old hat still keeps my head dry.

It wasn't much longer before he saw the beginnings of the town, and soon enough he was in the square. He took a slow look around before spotting the library, and for a moment thought of passing it up. That was, until he saw the sign posted on the door advertising free coffee and tea. Just the thought of something warm to soothe the aching cold in his bones was enough to get him to the door right-quick. He didn't step inside until he was sure he had wrung a good portion of the moisture from his main and tail, and made sure to shake his hat off.

Just inside the door he found a bin labeled for umbrellas, and he deposited his saddle bag and blanket next to it before heading for the coffee.

He nods in greeting as he passes by, giving a short "how'dy".

"Hey." Unlike the somewhat dry Ella, he was still soaking wet. Given Epic grew up in the Everfree Forest the only helter he usually had from the rain were the leaves.

it's not ella lol XD I should probably change my name while I'm on this board though, haha

He helps himself to a cup of hot coffee, only adding a little cream, and gives the other stallion a once over.

"You look like you could use a good towel."

He's quiet for just a few seconds, thinking.

"I have one in my saddle bag, you want it? I keep my stuff pretty clean, but there might be a bit of dust from the road."

 No.17267

>>17266
oh my god XD lol

He walks over to his bag and digs it out, then walks back and hands it to Epic.

A plain white towel; a little frayed but otherwise in good shape and relatively clean.

"You can keep it if ya like. Need to pick me up some new supplies before I skip outa here"

He takes his cup and plops down into one of the large, plush chairs.

"Oh yea" he says as his whole body relaxes.

"That's nice"

"Thank you."
Epic begins drying himself off. Rubbing the towel over his body until his wet mane becomes all matted and messy from the moisture.

"Ya'welcome" is his short reply.

He sits and sips on his coffee, staring at the downpour out the large window.

"Ya happen to know when this rain might let up?"

"...Hopefully soon."

"Mm. Guess I could wait a bit."

He sips a bit more of the coffee before setting it on the table next to himself, then leans back in the chair and pulls his hat down over his eyes. It isn't long before his breathing is shallow and deep.

Epic decided it'll be while and look at the books along the shelves.

I don't know how to move this forward. I was kind of hoping since it was an open thread, it might attract a few more people

I've just been bored for some RPing.

/rp/ has been a bit dead... But I fear if the admins ever decided to renovate it it'll end up like Ponychan's /rp/ which I always felt was rather elite for my taste.

Yea...

Maybe it did seem a bit intimidating looking at all the long standing/big post rps, but I noticed too that not a whole lot of people seemed to make many open threads. I mean there were some, obviously, but it felt like it kind of died off.

I might make another Sonic RP now that my Sonic TTRPG homebrew is more fleshed out (though I am still working on skill trees and balancing) though thing is given my Sonic TTRPG is also a boardgame hybrid I dunno how to work in all of it's features.

I really don't know too much about more set game styles, I've always been the type to gravitate towards just interactive story types.

>>17277
That's fine. Interactive stories are nice.
My only issue I have when it comes to story-driven roleplay is when conflict of indecision shows up but that only happens often in more adventure-driven stories to roleplay along. Things like who will win an arguement or fight amongst players or who will take the glory etc.

As much as it is a bruise to ones pride when one fails their rolls and can't be the impressive hero they want to be at least it is a deciding factor to such issue and encourage players to improv around their shortcomings.

Casual story-driven roleplays like hanging out in a part of the library would not require TTRPG statsheets or deciding factors or such... but still a bit of a subject or direction to roleplay around would be nice.

I remember long a go I did roleplays of Epic Mount simply skinny dipping in Everfree rivers. Nothing too raunchy or the like given ponies don't often wear clothes anyway, just causally chatting while enjoying the water.

[Putting this in brackets incase anyone does decide to rp in here, and I can keep the ooc talk separate.

I guess I've gotten kind of lucky in that regard (or maybe I just never noticed?); the people I have played with before, we've all tended to enjoy writing out the losses as much as the wins. It made our characters more rounded, richer, and funner for us to play because we then had hang ups and fears, and desires we could work with.

And sometimes revenge! XD]
