Honestly it would have been more interesting if they'd just made a season 3 to continue the story.

Still, I might give it a watch. See how it holds up compared to the original.

Probably not. The original never really clicked for me. Plus i think we're kindof in a toxic place with anime right now. Everything is soft moe lesbians or isekai wish fulfillment. Both kindof fill the same niche, that being anodynes for sad, lonely heterosexual men and boys, just with modular degrees of self-hatred. Ironically, i find post-apocalyptic stories a lot more hopeful and optimistic, in a way. You're feeding your brain something good and complex, teaching you how to persevere in tough situations. Shonen has it's cringe, but it's ultimately hopeful. Ultimately it's message is that you can overcome challenges with hard work, determination, and a bit of creativity. Those are good messages, and they can provide good examples, that you can think about and grow from, rather than just shoving the spiritual equivalent of raw sugar in until it gets fat and dysfunctional, which is pretty much where we are now. Idk if it's just what happens when media goes from being an art form to a product, if it's a reflection of the hopelessness of the times, or some combination of both. But either way it bugs me.

Ah well, doubt i'll run out of things to watch. There's a lot of good shows out there to backlog from various times and places. It's just kindof a bummer where we ended up.

Love the original. This one is supposed to be closer to the LNs than the original so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Listen I'm with you on the whole 'isekai wish fulfilment sucks' thing because it fucking does and it's half of all anime at this point and looking at upcoming anime on MAL gives me the same amount of tar in my lungs as smoking fifty packs of cigarettes.

But as a non-heterosexual non-male soft moe lesbians give me more pure unfiltered joy than any amount of JoJo could ever give me. Stay away. Bark bark.
