They're like, not good, for real.

I kinda want to make a Spiderman movie just to prove I can do it better than this random chump.

He's not a "random chump". He made Evil Dead 2. That gives him more clout than you!

And I think people don't realize that those movies are based on 60s spider-man.

Don't have time to watch almost 30 minutes of a guy complaining about some movies made by some other guy.

But I like the new Spider-Man from the MCU and Homecoming was really nice.
The vulture was pretty neat!

I still haven't seen Homecoming and I might not see Homecoming because the whole concept of the movie makes me cringe.  I just don't want to watch some kid get treated like a kid for two hours only to prove that he's a kid and continue to be treated as such in the next movie.  Nothing about that sounds superheroic to me.

I'm certain there's good parts to it, somewhere, but will I ever get over my legitimate fear of how awful I expect this movie to make me feel the entire time in order to watch it and find out?  I doubt it.

Yes, and I have a theory for why people think that.

That theory being that humanity is beyond saving.  It's corruption is tied deeply to the very roots of civilization's existence.  The entire planet needs to be cleansed of life.

You need to chillax more and not be so critical.
Just enjoy movies for what they are and don't put so much weight on the bad stuff.

I think to some extent I don't even like movies as a medium, which absolutely fuels how critical I tend to be when it comes to movies.

There have been movies I enjoy, I know movies exist that can retain my interest for their whole very lengthy duration.  I just saw The House with a Clock in the Walls and that was pretty stellar the whole way through.  But I need a really compelling reason to subject myself to this sort of isolation box where I'm entirely at the whims of a director that 7 times out of 10 is going to create just a miserable experience that I regret wasting my time on.  So, I'm very selective about what I watch and I tend to want to share my experiences both so that other people don't suffer through what I already have, and so movies that just aren't worth the time or money spent on them don't cloud up the media sphere.

I am constantly hearing nothing but good things about Homecoming, so I really should at least give it a chance.  I could at least watch it at home now, so it's easy to bail on it halfway through or browse the web during the shitty parts, if indeed such parts exist.  Again, I'm just terrified that it will not only fail to be a good experience, but might actually be a negative experience.  Which might be very specific to me personally, and it might not be true even then.  I don't know.

We have a very different take on movies I guess. Not that I watch a lot of them.
Guess I'm just less critical of the isolation box director part of it all?

If I have to give some criticism on Homecoming it's that it's a bit cliché with the whole high school loser love story part.
But it has a lot of funny moments that make up for it.
Suit-lady is nice. I like her.

Keeping track of what all of you guys are up to.

Things are hanging pretty well. House is looking better, still working a lot on it. Don't buy a house that needs fixing unless you're like... Really really bored and have money to burn! And I know you're not bored.
The cats are now one cat... But he's great. Enjoying life too much, cuddly at times and a jerk at others. But great overall.

Still not nearly as busy as you from the looks of things.

Yeah.. It got hit by a car last fall, came home limping. Thought maybe he just fell on it or something but it didn't get better.... I can still remember the look he gave me as he was on my lap the night before he was brought to the vet... I know it's just a cat, but it still hurts..
His brother is alive and well, but yeah... Not much to do about cars when you live next to a road..

Living in what could be considered your savings is pretty nice though. Doing things in the garden and inside without having to ask anybody first. I'm just complaining because it's a lot of work. Work that I chose myself that is. I could just have gotten a different house that didn't need as much work.
I hope my house doesn't implode... That would suck!

Sometimes it's nice to not know who you are.  Just an ephemeral voice on the internet, no need to keep your opinions consistent or defend your choices.  You can dip in and out of discussions as needed, only adding stuff when you feel like it.

I'm always myself, though, unfortunately.  If I'm ever anonymous people just ask where my name went.
