But snakes are evil. They are literally nothing but poison and muscle. ...Maybe a little bit of bone, but that's it!

They also spend 90% of their time curled in a ball hiding, and only risk coming out because they have to eat.

They are so vulnerable most of the time.

I ate a python once. We skinned it alive. Didn't even cook it right because I don't know how to cook things. Poor thing.

That sounds rather cruel. Even if pythons are evil, they are still living things.

They had to ban an episode of Peppa Pig in Australia because it taught kids to pet spiders.

Seriously?

I bet Australia has spiders that can pass as a very ugly lapdog.

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/sep/05/peppa-pig-spiders-cant-hurt-you-episode-pulled-off-air-in-australia-again

It happened.

It's not really good advice in other parts of the world either. Here in America we have spiders called "brown recluse". Their bites will make your skin rot. But it's probably even worse in Australia, where they probably have spiders that can puncture your skull and drink your brains or something like that.

i found one of these in my house once, and i thought it was really cute, especially since spiders can be scary

i named her Doctum at the time, and i put her under my bed where it was safe

https://spiderid.com/spider/gnaphosidae/herpyllus/ecclesiasticus/

now i have a few of these running around my room! if i find one in the house, i will relocate them there so they can be with friends and not be killed by anyone.

....i have come to find them quite cute and beautiful. they also probably take care of any pests in the room. i do not get ants at all, for example.

...i haven't seen one this month though, and i am worried my poor spiders are missing.

Spiders that I tolerate inside the house:

Cellar spiders (daddy long legs but not the fall kind)
They're useful for hunting other spiders and bugs and I got myself over being scared of them.

Glue spitters
Because they are kind of cute and not frightening at all.

Some small black spiders who weave webs and stay sedentary most of the time.
I don't know what spiders they are, but they're pretty small and don't bother me at all.

Marpissa
Because they are the cutest.

Spiders I don't tolerate in my home:
Wolf spiders
They're borderline. Still too migrational and actually kind of scary to have around

House spiders
Because FUCK them
FUCK them with a very large stick.

But most European spiders are pretty harmless.
