Well for most of the world, the summer time is over and education is starting to creep back into our lives again.
Whether going back to school, entering college, or maybe just learning how to cook for yourself in your 30s it's never a bad time to start learning. Expanding your mind and your skills can show you things you may never know about.
So let's pick up a book, and a nice cup of what beverage gets us in the brainy mood and talk about anything and everything on our minds.

>>1149812You can always just turn on heavy scaling in Windows I think, so it's not like everything will be small in regulra use - not to mention the fact that if it turns out it's Just Too Much you can just set the resolution to 1920x1080 and there won't be any distortion because of a whole number being the factor between it and 3840x2160. Obviously there's no such option in the other direction. Anyway, 1920x1080 is usually good enough but then sometimes if you want to see things in close detail it's nice to have the extra pixels.
Wait, ultra-wide but 4k? How does that work? 2160 lines, but more columns? Also, why not just get two monitors instead of going ultra-wide?

Me and my friend recently got into 10Er (essentially danish Patreon) for our X-Files Podcast.
We promised we would do a Halloween special if we got a certain amount of supporters, and we did. So now we're gonna cover the first two movies in the Kolchak franchise.
Short story, it was a pair of TV movies in the 70ies based on a novel, about a reporter who gets involved in serial killings performed by a vampire in Las Vegas. The two movies got popular enough that it became a short-lived 20 episode TV series that became a cult hit, and has been directly referred to as a major X-Files inspiration.
So we're covering those first two movies and saving the series itself for another time.
Watching the second movie right now. They're very entertaining.
Of course, I was also drawing and editing Spooky Month stuff earlier today, so it is a very spooky day altogether

No.1150450
>>1150449It is, if you remember its from the 70ies and enjoy that style.
Some of it looks corny now, but Kolchak is a very fun character, and it occasionally gets pretty legit spooky. The vampire in the first movie is about as classical a vampire as you can get away with putting in a modern setting, and this second movie features a killer returning every 21 years to harvest blood for a life extending elixir.
I reaaaaally wanna watch the show, cause some of the episode summaries sound completely bonkers in the coolest way.

>>1150453Sorry, taking a lot of notes here.
It's a Season 6 episode of X-Files. Mulder and Scully go undercover as a newlywed couple in a slightly-too-idyllic planned community where it seems people go missing if they fail to comply with the ridiculously strict HOA regulations.

No.1150458
>>1150457I dunno, last I checked, most HOA's couldn't summon trash golems to kill the undesirables.
Though I have no doubt they would if they could.
The whole HOA concept is so alien and insane looking from an outside-of-the-US perspective I gotta tell ya
