Well, finally after a long weekend with lots of good times, and bad times I'm finally up and getting back into routine.

That ways seems to be the case after a long break whether vacation, convention, or just time off. Getting back into the routine you used to have and cleaning up the dust after being gone so long.

So let's get back to straightening out messages with a nice cool cup of whatever beverage you enjoy the most, and talk about anything and everything on our minds

Yeah, I'm just annoyed because, and I'm sure you'll appreciate this, I had money saved up and was going to do fun things with it

Yeah, aint that always the way.
Of course I for once just bought soem games. There were a few fun things on sale yesterday, and a game I been looking forward to came out on Steam today... and also downloaded two of the free PS PLus games and uuuh

I might have a problem

 No.1122547

>>1122538

Was it? I thought there was plenty to like about it. The one thing that probably held it back was a lack of standardisation in phones, but otherwise it's a way to get people a taste of VR on the cheap since the most expensive part of the thing is a device you have anyway. In fact I kind of just ordered a second-hand Garett VR4 with a remote (since it seems you can't get a new one nowadays). It's a gimmick but it's fun, and it comes at a fraction of the cost of a proper thing like a Valve Index or something.

>>1122546
I'll say you do, you have all those awesome games and not enough time.
Better slow the rotation of the earth

>>1122547
Well that is the big problem. Lack of standardization and also phone accessories would be a problem at times.
True it would be a cheap way to show off VR or augmented reality. Well maybe I misjudged a bit

 No.1122549

>>1122548

As to the accessories, I was kinda hoping we could sidestep this problem entirely by going fully bluetooth. That would probably solve a lot of issues. It's not like connectivity would ever be a problem really, the range is so short - and you don't even need many accessories anyway. But it seems nobody's developing this and in fact the tech is dying. Really, it's too bad.

I would totally get a Valve Index for myself, but I feel like it would be a waste since the real fun with those things is online, and my internet access is way too unreliable for that. Which is ironic given that I'm mostly at WFH, but still.

Oh God if only it was possible

Well, one of them was a horror game I hear good things about and was down to like 20% of its full price. The other was the Megaman Zero / ZX collection that was down to half price...

And then a horror game I played the demo for a while back and REALLY loved dropped today.

But I should control myself from here. Thankfully, I don't really have plans for August beyond this weekend though.

>>1122549
Yeah, Honestly it's probably because the VR headsets got cheaper... or at least they were...

Honestly I can't argue that. I'm hoping to get a Valve Index myself at somepoint

>>1122550
Haha, I know right?

OOO that sounds like a bunch of fun there. I say it was money well spent

 No.1122552

>>1122551

Might be that. I feel like there's still room on the cheapo end of the scale for this tech though. Even with there being budget models, the "instert phone" headsets are still about 10 times cheaper than a "real" VR headset, which is no joke - and the really nice thing is they're inherently super upgradeable. Get a new phone (which you will do sometimes anyway), your VR headset suddenly got better for free. Also, they do feel like they're better to take outside (which you might for the "fun gimmick" purposes, like taking beer-ed up friends on VR rollercoaster rides or something). Taking a dedicated VR headset seems extra silly (if only because of the potential for its electronics to get damaged), but let's be serious - you ARE taking your phone with you.

I'm kinda holding out for a Valve Index 2 should that ever come out since like I said, no rush on my part, what with the internet being crap here.

 No.1122553

>>1122551
Yeah, I just need to take it easy for a while after this. But this should keep me entertained for a while.

And that new one I have been real interested in. Cause the demo was good AND the base premise is similar to one of my favorite horror films of the last few years.

And next month I WILL need to have some new game son my Switch anyway, so...

>>1122552
Ah true. Though in my experience with phones as well apps seem to go out of date and unusable relatively quickly.

Still I kinda feel you there too, especially if the Index 2 will be wireless, but there hasn't been much talk about it either so... it's curious

>>1122553
OOO so much wonderful gaming going on. it's definitely a fun time for us all

 No.1122557

>>1122555

Can't really have a piece of literal plastic go out of date, so that's not a problem (and a phone going out of date, well, that means you're replacing the phone, doesn't it - and in the process automatically making the phone + headset combo better, in relatively short iterations). Sorta. ...my old one went out of date. Specifically it supports phones only up to 6" and my new phone is 6.5". It was a proper cheapo piece of crap anyway though. Esperanza emv300. Bought it for literal $7. New, not second hand. This newer one seems actually nice. I'll see for myself if the tech had actual potential. If the $70 one turns out to be about as good as the $7 one, and the $7 one was basically just a neat one time gimmick, perhaps it was doomed from the get-go.

Turns out they still sell it and it's even cheaper now: https://botland.store/vr-3d-glasses-sets/7390-3d-vr-glasses-for-smartphones-35-6-esperanza-emv300-5901299926406.html . The quality is a bit dodgy but it's still a neat toy to try out VR if you want just a demo.

Well, we'll see what this more expensive one ends up like. Might as well spend that bit more, since these are just not ever getting better.

 No.1122564

>>1122563

I mean... couldn't you describe all VR as that? Otherwise you get VR 3D vision, sound (that is, if you also use headphones, because let's be real you don't want any sort of headphones this $5 thing would come with - technically you can use the phone's speakers but that won't get you 3D sound), movement (as in, animations - but also head movement, since it'll use your phone's gyroscope for that) and interactivity (if the app you're looking at has that at any rate). What more do you want, really?

>When I tried to watch the 2012 series on there, it had the english dubs for the first two seasons, but NOT of the other three
>Literally every single other streaming service in this entire country always has the english dubs available on ALL cartoons, even the baby ones

And people wonder why folks watch shit on pirate sites. I am literally sitting here trying to watch it legally, and they won't let me do something as simple as change dub, something that has been a bog standard thing for over 20 years in home entertainment?

It's one thing to not have it available at all, but not have it available for specific SEASONS?

I would understand if the Danish dub only had X amount of seasons if we just never brought the rest over or something, that at least makes sense.

But like... this is how it was made in the first place, how do you fuck this up?

 No.1122599

WHAT licensing? It's how the product was made in the FIRST place! And ever ysingle other streaming service available here ALWAYS has the english dubs. it has to be a conscious choice to remove a core part of what came with the package.

That's like if a car dealer bought foreign cars, and then pulled out the steering wheels and replacd them with one sthat look slightly different.

Yep, watching now.
What's the point of paying to watch shit legally if they won't let folks watch shit HOW they want?
