Yep, we're starting to get closer to winter. very close, but it doesn't mean we're celebrating anything yet. Except American Turkey and overeat day. But that's it. It's not anything else. So stop the songs that are a month early, stop all the decorations already filling the store and stop the donation drives talking about the season of the year.

But it would be a good idea to start shopping early though, apparently shipping is pretty bad right now.

But let's get away from the attempt to make a holiday a 2 month long event and enjoy a nice cup of something with a little fall flavoring and talk about anything on our minds

No no, that's not something you are allowed to post here

I mean I'll be honest, even when I've enjoyed the movies and shorts I've never been wild about the EQG style. For some reason the flash "same body model for most characters" I'm kinda fine with when it's cartoon horses but when it's grounded in a mostly human world with some magic I'm like "eh, that's a little bit lazy". I dunno why. Not that I hate it or anything even, just never done much for me.

Well that much is true, but I do enjoy some of it regardless. They at least certainly get creative with outfit design.

> Haha, now I kinda wanna see.
Not too long I had that short discussion with my own mother on whether it's okay  to show off stuff your kids make.

I sometimes at least want to ask permission if I can show something sometimes, but I do feel like it's a very sensitive thing.
I am generally well amazed what she can do.
I saw as well a book report on Survivor dogs with a picture in the background and I thought first it was an offcial advertisement thing.

 No.1103764

>>1103763
Yeah, you definitely need to ask your kids permission. It IS sensitive for artists regardless of age. Personally I am pretty open about showing my sketchbook if people ask, but it's very, very different.

Even when I host my workshops and meet the kids for the first time, I will usually ask if they have anything with them that I can see to get an idea of what the ycan already do. I never say "Show me", I ask "do you have anything I can see?" for this exact reason.

I feel with me at least, she's pretty extroverted. But she did tell me she feels a bit bashful to have others just see it.

Hmm, how have you been in your life with drawing? Were you always someone doodling your hours away? or did you get into it later?

 No.1103766

>>1103765
Then let her. Encourage, but let her stay comfortable. At an impressionable age, showing off things when you know you're starting and even more prone to comparing yourself to others than I am, pushing won't do too well.

It's a bit of a bumpy ride for me. It was actually a doctor telling my mom I had "weak wrists" and needed access to drawing material when I was like four that got it started. So I was always doodling. But living in a small rural area, being THE town bullying target, not having anywhere to engage with any of my interests and my parents not really getting (or making that much of an effort TO get) many of my interests or the stuff I wanted to draw resulted in me never truly, fully "practicing". I haven't had any schooling either.

Between the ages of like... man, like 19 and 25 I barely drew at all thanks to confidence loss. There was a bit here and there, but nothing very consistent. It wasn't till 2015-ish when I had a job that required a lot of "sitting around and waiting until someone needed me" that I picked it up again and for the first time in YEARS made a piece I actually remotely liked. Since then it has been fairly consistent. I am still not particularly trained, in a lot of ways I am pretty terrible on a technical level, but still.
