Always neat to find new songs to add to my mental playlist
These guys dropped their debut album a few months back and it's jerky and nervous and pretty amazing
from a lovely pop art album released back in February
Some interesting new jazz stuff out of the UK
Some interesting experimental rock from a few months ago
St. Vincent has a new album out this year and it's got a real strong 70s vibe
have some king gizzard and the lizard wizard

does anyone have, maybe, sadder, more contemplative music?
Here's a mellow, reflective song about heartbreak:
Or maybe this one?https://youtu.be/7aEbi7BvV80
This is one of my favorite covers:https://youtu.be/MqigBTKHeTo
I know a lot of people like the original because it's meant to be a fast paced song, but slowing it down puts a new melancholy on this that I feel like gives it a whole new meaning.
Or, also French, but a bit less extravagant

nothing specific. just a strange musician that goes by the name of "ott"
CW : rapidly flashing images, not for photosensitive people
This one. Cuz i've been jamming it on beat saber like all day now and it kicks!
I've been watching this new anime called " 've been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level" and it's about a burnt out salary woman who dies and gets sent to a world where she gets to relax and just do regular work and killing slimes for 300 years, then maxes out her stats and becomes one of the most powerful beings in existence
it's cute, has a lot of slice of life moments, and has a really positive message about taking care of yourself, don't overwork oneself, and being mindful of your needs. its lovely <3
in the latest episode, a rabbit girl named Kuku tries to sing "death style" minstrel music to a crowd, which is basically death metal and passes out from hunger. The main character azusa and her friends bring her in to their place to feed her and help her out. A dragon girl named Flatorte brashly but fairly points out that her style of music isn't very popular and won't get her mainstream, and through the episode everyone helps Kuku make a gorgeous song.
then... well i invite you to watch the video.
I don't often cry about anything. but this scene... it hit me so so very close to home right now... and both Kuku and Flatorte's moment at the end of the episode is brilliant and i will watch it time and time again T_T
creatives have a hard life in that it's reliant on the interest of others, but we choose to live it because it's our calling, even if nobody listens time and time and time again... we still try...
so... yeah... this sequence is very special to me <3

I'll be honest
There's a lot of anime nowadays that's like
"I died and I am now playing some RPG character"
a lot of anime...
Is this the new "We're playing a child's game but there's dramatic holographic monster battles as well"?

oh it's a huge trope! almost a cliche at this point, so i don't blame anyone for kinda rolling their eyes at isekai
but that's why i want to see what people do with it. what kind of stories they can do with an old formula like that?
this one is using the isekai formula to teach people about self-care, not overworking yourself, and learning to live and enjoy the moment. you don't need to train everyday for 12 hours to save the world from a death defying dragon; you can take a little bit at a time, grow and appreciate yourself, and trust that your journey will take you where you need to go <3
