Usually fall comes in slowly with a gradual changing of the leaves color, a slight nip in the air that gets a little bit lower every day, and the slow earlier darkening of the day before winter begins a gentle blanket of white snow just as we get ready to celebrate the holidays and good cheer.

Or in some cases it comes screaming like it was fired from a cannon covered in some sort of ice fire laying everything in snow and massive confusion as we're just trying to finish our pumpkin spice and we're not ready for peppermint yet.

We're not ready for peppermint yet!!

But let's go ahead and enjoy the foot of snow we suddenly have at random and drink with friends.

Well, I'm a basic bitch so it'd 95% certainly be a dog. I love dogs, I always wanted a dog but we never had one (my mom got bitten pretty badly by a big dog shortly before I was born and was quite phobic for a long while as a result - she's better about it now but generally den't care much for animals). I've entertained the notion of a bird sometimes, but with the kinda stuff I do - art and videos etc - it seems it'd be difficult. Plus, birds tend to require a LOT of upkeep that I'm afraid I would fuck up.

And with a dog, I'd need a more "chill" breed. Like, of COURSE I'll walk and play with the damn thing, I am not cruel or an idiot, but a bigass dog that needs to go on an hour-long run every thirty minutes would be a bad fit for someone into my activities, yanno?

>>1065687
Dude, I have no idea when it became a lame thing to be basic. I love dogs. I'd love a big fluffy dog. Basic is basic because it's simple, fun, and not complicated.

Well it couldn't be worse than me when I got a turtle dove, and when cleaning out it's cage it flew away. barely had it for 2 weeks.

Yeah, that's the reason I'd probably get a Malamute over a Husky, doesn't need as much social attention

 No.1065696

>>1065693
Just a dog that's equally as chill lazing around the house as it is going outside to play, yanno? So I can still do my thing, but with fluffy company.

Pffft, nice.

I guess mine does have a mascot in that I just drew a stereotypical Grey Alien wearing headphones. I do rather like it though.

We're also recording our first (of probably very few) Let's Plays, since we got ahold of the X-File PS1 game. He's dropping by tomorrow so we can do the last two discs.

Personally though I wish my mind would go to a state of happiness

Same category as coffee and cookies and cakes!

The mind is weird... Guess you can only really nudge it and clear the path? It'll find its way there eventually then... Maybe?

Well the mascot we made was a hippogriff. We decided to make her an enthusiastic gamer as part of her personality, and I wanted to keep it somewhat true to life so I said maybe we should keep her a little chubby, And my panel ran with it much farther basically saying make her thicc and then somehow mixing them together to thiccogriff

OOO X-files PSX game. I hope that goes really well for you!

>>1065817
Haha, indeed I agree with that.

Hopefully so. at least that's what we try to do

I love it.

It's, uuuuh. It's not a great game. It has aged like milk. But oh well, it's still fun to experience it and see my X-Files superfan partner see what is essentially a 90s X-Files episode he's never seen before.

Haha, I know right. works way too well.

Well i doubt it was good milk to begin with, but there's always a curiosity with those old games

It's a sort of FMV / Visual Novel / Point and click mix. Which, you know, makes sense for a game where you play an FBI agent and gotta be a detective.

The real proble msi that it insists on a first person view, and all locations are grid/tile based, allowing you to look in all four direction on eveyr square... which means it's easy to end up staring at a wall or the end f a hallway, take a while to map an area out, etc. There's a giant ass warehouse early in the game where you gotta look for clues... and some of those clues are on the floor making you have to look DOWN which you can only do in certain places. And the stuff you gotta find is tiny, makign it an irritating pixel hunt. Like, a cigarette butt or a bullet lodged in a pillar.

Hell, this "Look down" thing makes it possible to FORGET YOUR BADGE AT YOUR OFFICE" when you leave it the first time because it's in a drawer at your desk, and it's entirely possible to miss you can even look down when sitting there.

It's also going for "realism" in the "make you do every menial step of a task yourself" kind of way. Like you can't just pick up evidence, you have to select an "evidence kit" and THEN pick it up. And there are times where you clearly have to talk to a certain character, but can only do so if you sit your ass down somewhere specific to trigger THEM coming to YOU to ask to talk before you can go to where they normally are.

The result is that it's just super unintuitive, at least by modern standards.

True, and makes sense for the time too

ooof, all of that sounds super painful

Sounds like a ton of fluff and a good argument against realism in gaming.

Well I just spend over an hour in AC popping balloons, shaking trees for pinecones and ending up with 100 branches, and running out of leaves very quickly.

fun
