Going to a con many things can happen. You meet old friends, you see cool cosplay, and you can buy some interesting and creative swag. Of course there's also the stores that just have a ton of figures and the like that you would find at their store, or in an ebay shop. It's definitely a lot more interesting when one of these is a thrift store and they have several big bags of big ponies. Granted now they're my big bags of ponies! Just have to tame all their manes. Apparently the Power Ponies were attacked by the mane-iac.

So Let's enjoy a cup of our favorite brew and talk about whatever comes to mind

How is the building of dragons going?

 No.978437

No I'm the sorry one. Pains me that lal your days are butt.

Well, I pay a few hours each day. Near the end of the second island, where I gotta say, the story took a somewhat predictable turn, but in a different WAY than I expected that made me realize I am quite invested.

I do wanna get back to my main island and start building shit on my own soon though

Actually it should be expected at this point. Now's usually the time people start going nuts. and doesn't help people are also missing today.

Also a pill I have to take a half day for my anime con request. Not thrilled about that.

That's awesome to hear. I still need to get at it but probably going to be a bit since working on FFXIV and soon Link's awakening. Though I did finally get the PvP thing figured out so hopefully that will soon be done.

Someone forgot to refer to the right poster.

Well I did ebtween the first two story islands. Built everyone some super simple wooden individual rooms, a bathhouse, two fields, a barn and a "restaurant/kitchen". Right now it's very rustic and basic. But then, I am gathering tht the REAL building doesn't really start until you've finished the story considering how it keeps teaching me new stuff.

But yeah, true, I have next to no complaints, almost nothing is ever frustrating other than the camer sometimes making a boneheaded decisionon how far to zoom in, or the hunger meter just kind of.... being a wee bit pointless other than forcing you to constantly cook stuff.

I do wish the story towns had some much, much clearer indicators of city limits for you to build in though. I had to knock down half of what I built in the first town cause I kept going over some invisible line and cause the big story construct by the end oerlapped several buildings.

It starts out as a story about  invisible monsters apparently drawining people of blood... so veyr low-budget..

But in the last fifteen or so minutes, a machine renders the creatures visible, and it turns out to be brains with attached spines that crawl around, wrap the spines around necks to choke them and such. And from there, it's near Night of the Living Dead style with people hitting these things with shovels, shooting them or stepping on them. It's tame NOW, but for a 1950ies movie it's crazy

I mean, the blood going down the drain is still an iconic shot due first of all to it just being a striking image, but it may well have been one of the most prolonged instances of onscreen blood at the time.

But after that, the movie doesn't actually have a lot of visually morbid moments, aside from the sight of Norma's corpse. And i guess the detective falling down the stairs, but that's it.

Random short stuff off of Itch.io. Mostly horror games.

Already had to abandon two because they were too dark for me to see what i was doing or I just ran around for tne minutes without finding anywhere to go and had no options to turn up the brightness. Being a biiiit more selective lately.

I got an extra part in some crime scene reconstructions today and tomorrow in the city for TV. Then I am sticking around my friend's place friday.

It really isn't. And one of them just had me walking around an abandoned hospital which, yanno, fine.

Then I just couldn't get anywhere after opening all doors and finding one locked, couldn't seem to interact with any objects, not that I found any, and then while walking suddenly a scary image that had not at all been built up just popped up and I was like "Alright fuck this":

I mean, it's a tossup with Itch.io. A lot of folks make some really interesting an fun stuff on there, but sometimes you also just find stuff that looks promising but is barely functional, or slender clones or run-and-hide games, the latter of which just annoy the crap out of me.

Oh yeah?

Heh, well I guess you can't complain with a 'free' game. Still you would think they would put more effort.

Oh, screamer games. talk about uninspired.

Well that's why you're the reviewer. You shift through the crap to find the gems.

Yep! When you showed me the Wilkin's coffee commercials I suddenly had the funny idea "What if Applejack did something similar to everyone else with apple Cider" though it slowly evolved into Strawberry Sunrise for the moment.
I was thinking of just doing some quick silly sketch drawings and stuff, but I told my other friends the idea and they started talking about doing puppets or maybe SFM animations. so we actually might have the next big running joke on our hands

 No.978811

You can't. That's also why I just straight up delete the ones I don't like / don't get anything entertaining out of rather than upload them just to bitch. I try not to shit too hard on DIY creators.

Plus there's just no point uploading a playthrough where I giv up or am just uninterested or nothing of note happens.

Wasn't really a "screamer". It clearly wasn't the end, and it was listed to be like a 30 mintue game on the page. But if I spend six minutes walking in circles and just get a random "ooga booga", I ain't gonna be happy.

Yeah, you brought that up

Where to even start.  Our manager ditched us a week before school started and they just barely saddled us with a new one, but she's largely inept and I'm not sure how much she's even helping.  My co-workers are down on her to the point of mutiny, and they might up and leave with how bad things are.  We're seemingly always behind, partially because of an influx of 100 new students this year and purportedly also because our manager just isn't doing enough.  I'm barely holding myself together trying to keep up, just hoping that my body survives the walk to work, much less the job itself.

As for today in particular, the principal has requested a meeting with us from 1:30 to 2:00, which would normally be the last half hour of our day, when we're trying to get everything in order.  The time when, so far this year, we've already been struggling to the point that some of us don't get out on time.  There's going to be forced overtime today at the end of a week where everyone is already exhausted, and I'm likely to miss my bus as a result.

>>980156
Ouch, definitely doesn't sound like the best start to the school year. Sorry to hear it's being so rough. I hope something gives and it improves for you soon.

I jsut finished my doodles from the wholesome little train ride the other day. My friend's having a post-work nap, and then we're headed off to watch IT Part 2.

Sounds ungood. It's time to unload so that overload stops. Less coffee might be nifty, and tea is a good buffer. Also have a lot of lovely taste options as well.
I consider having tea.

Goooood. I get some tea and maybe something to eat a bit, as I feel very out of it and drowsy and really don't want to feel that way. This is a very lame state of being.

It would be nice, but it looks like odd, stupid, and weird issues are still coming and they come in faster now. More annoying that I was going to practice drawing too
