Well festivities are either behind us or a few weeks away, and right now it's just summer heat and a lot of nothing else, so let's just enjoy a robust cup of whatever you enjoy whether coffee, tea, or some sort of soda or water and talk about whatever comes to your mind

I like to use hypnosis to bring down my stress levels.

I sometimes feel dazed and a warm tingle all over my body, but THEN i feel rejuvenated.

Oh, well consider my concern removed.

Well that's one way to think about it. I personally try to meditate but depending on the meditation technique I can see it maybe falling into the realm of hypnosis. But I'm sure either way it's a good way to calm stress

Well I'm not sure about altered states of consciousness with me as I prefer to keep my wits about me.

However I do agree with the idea of multiple perspectives. Learn to look at everything through multiple viewpoints. Gives you a lot of ideas of where people are coming from with some things as well as a few ideas

An interesting approach to a relaxed and calm state is the exploration of a possible psychological root cause of a disorder or symptom, such as a past event that a person has hidden in his or her unconscious memory.

Not great.

You'd think I'd be happy. Hosted one of my workshops yesterday then had a friend over for recording and hanging out. Friday I have more friends over, Saturday is my birthday...

But I'm just lying around here barely able to get myself to do anything, slowly getting randomly moodier and moodier, knowing I should work on comic or anything really and just completely unable to find the strength to, every trip to Twitter or something is a reminder of everyone else doing things or achieving things that I never manage cause I am clearly too weak for the effort or too
Dumb to know the ways...

I think you're making it harder on yourself by being so stressed and anxiety ridden for not doing anything which is only making the problem worse.

If it's such a concern why don't you just get up and just start messing with it and see if it motivates, but if you honestly don't have the energy right now then give yourself a bit of understanding and a chance to rest a bit. I know it's not what you want to do, but it might be what you need to do.

It's probably the cycle I mention. You don't give yourself permission to just rest and give yourself an anxiety attack when you try to relax, exhausting yourself so you loaf again and wear out again. Educated guess, your work ethic. It's a spiral where you're worn and need rest but you feel you need to be productive so you wear out and keep going but you want to be productive. It's hard because you have to look at yourself and be honest with what you are doing and accept you need to let it go for now and relax. You don't give yourself permission to relax, so you stress over being forced to. Give yourself the permission, it's okay to take a day.

It goes I guess. I tried to pick my mood up by doing some fairly self-indulgent drawing last night, and went to a meeting with my caseworker. Then I figured I'd play the game a bit to get some energy back and then draw, but it didn't really work out  and now I have spent like an hour on a near impossible challenge in it. I'll likely have to go to my parents' soonish for shopping or moving shit around or saturday and then ahve dinen rwith them, so once again nothing was accomplished despite attempt to make myself feel better before doing anything. Yay.

It is very good, but it does put you in some basically impossible-to-dodge situation and only ever lets you carry two healing items. Even when you unlock the boss room in Temples, you usually still have to go a few screens from the save point, most likely taking damage on the way there. And you have to find an item that you are given very few hints on where to find in order to teleport across the map via save point, so if you don't have that, use both of your items againt a boss and then lose, you're more or less fucked.

It's done for the purpose of mimicking the Wonder Boy series of games, I get that, but not EVERYTHING about retro games is worth mimicking

Nah, ask away. I put the game away for now.

Well no. I knew it was a comedy, and Scandinavian comedies do usually play with tragic or dark stuff. And it DOES take place in prison, so it's not like it was never gonna get  abit moody. But get a load of the premise:

It's called "The Volunteers". It is, on paper, a dramedy.

A wealthy businessman gets charged for fraud and is jailed. When another inmate claims he owes his brother money as a result for his fraud, he signs himself up for voluntary confinement which, according to the other inmates, are where "the perverts" go. There, he gets into a power struggle with another inmate (played by our most famous Stand-Up comedian) who has sort of made a following out of the other "Volunteers", and especially of the choir that he leads.
Businessman is a textbook psychopath.

Choir leader may or may not have molested the girls in the Handball club he worked at.

"Hilarity" ensues

So I was really inspired by this card and wanted to make a deck to take advantage of it.  This is already a pretty cool looting engine that might net you some good card advantage if you hit the more expensive payoff later.  But that first effect triggers on anything you discard, whether it's the result of an opponent's Duress/Mind Rot, or the cost of one of your other spells.  Which means I dodge certain deck types and remove the costs from certain spells.  It's very abusable.

Got Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Lapis x Labyrinth in the mail today, finally getting to play those.  So far Xenoblade Chronicles is pretty decent, but the fact that it's an enjoyable game doesn't entirely assuage the pain of not having a turn based RPG involving super robots.  Kinda want to go play Xenosaga again.

Well it's one that we don't get all that often. Usually kids animation plays to the lowest denominator. Guess that's why we love ponies, Zim, and even early spongebob.

Yep, format looks great and it all fits. I might be overthinking it though. Guess I want everything to look perfect and make sure to edit the first chapter a few more times before I finally give it a debut

I think it's inevitable. The chaff gets forgotten, and the gems remembered, so looking back, we only remember the good, whereas looking around us now, we see the good and the bad, so it seems worse by comparison. This is true of any media, not just kids' tv.

Personally, i'm actually a huge fan of our current media landscape! There's just so many avenues for people to create art with so much less initial resource investment! You see things being made that could have never been made before! And more art being made in general, because it's so much easier to find a platform and an audience! Plus, in my opinion anyway, more is generally good, since i'd take a lot of shitty art if it means i get one great piece of art, as i can just ignore what i don't like and consume what grabs me. So having more art out there really is just pure positive from my perspective for that reason.

That's a great perspective to have. And you're definitely not wrong. It would have been practically impossible back in the 90's to have so many fan animations and art and music made and really reach a ton of people. Nowadays it's simple, so yes it leads to crap, but there's also so much good fun stuff.

Hour before work. Found out the doctors appointment I made like two months ago, and wasn't even till September, got cancelled because someone didn't bother to see if the doctor was even going to be in that day.

I get the feeling today is going to be a long one. Maybe work will distract me.

kind of done with those guys. I'm going to have to put my foot down and just get them to take the test without me having to be there,as I'm sure they can. It's just a blood test. And if they need it fresh or something, I'll go do it that same day, because I know my clinic, at least, will get it sent out on their end.

Just doing the work thing and packing for Trotcon on my breaks, trying to decide if I should take the small case so I don't have to pay luggage fees but will have smaller space, or the bigger one so I can make sure I have space for swag

That's a big oof.

I feel like I've gotten a fair amount done and some solid relaxing in over my vacation, and I'm only like halfway into it.
