Coffee, when not drowning in flavored creamers and sugars, is a deep, robust flavor experience. Definitely a far cry from it's cousin the tea.196 posts and 158 image replies omitted. Click reply to view.
But despite that, both drinks are as essential to live. Coffee to get up, go and make the day work for you, and tea to wind it down, relax, and heal the body.
So let's use this week's thread to celebrate our cousin, tea.
Or drink what you like, no judgements here.
Also come in and talk about whatever is on your mind!

How is the new season so far?
Oh I binged the whole thing. Good shit.
It feels a little like two short seasons since there are kinda two "arcs" here, but it's a ton of fun. Sadly, Tsunoda, Fenneko and Haida are a little more in the background this time 'round. But lots of interesting shit goes down-

I bathe in garlic to ward off vampires.
She's not NOT in it, but definitely a smaller part than Season 1.
But don't worry, there are some new, very strange folks to meet.
How els is sirkit?

Sadly I have a lot more to worry about than the temperature.>>954160
My father got diagnosed with cancer not too long ago, and last Wednesday he got told that it's basically untreatable. Not even chemo will work, because his form of cancer supposedly travels by blood and is therefore not localized.
This morning I went with him to the hospital to run a few tests, and we'll hear the results in two weeks. They want to find the "mother tumor" to find a way to slow it down, but as it stands he's effectively terminal.>>954161
Not going to happen any time soon.
I'm sorry man. I was just attempting a bit of brevity.
That IS really rough, and I'm sorry it's happening to ya both.
A good friend of mine at work just had surgery yesterday for hers. They're going to see if she's able to keep fighting once she recovers.

It's fine. I'm just tired.
Yeah... At least my father seems to be taking it relatively well, all things considered... But I don't know what I should do or feel. I'm scared for the future. He's already dealing with Parkinson's as it is, and I seriously don't trust these doctors by their word anymore after they previously said his kidney tumor was not malignant.>>954165
Geez... I'm really sorry for your friend. I hope she is doing well and I wish her all the best.
There's no "should" in situations like these. It's never easy to process.

Yeah, guess so at least.>>954162
It's alright, Just another thing we need to work with as usual>>954163
Oh no... I'm so sorry Ebon...
I know it's of little consolation right now but at least you know you still have some time
I don't know. All I know from my father is that it started at his kidney, it spread to his bloodstream and now it's apparently everywhere. He's mostly been in touch with his doctor through phone when he's out, and today I wasn't allowed to join him any further than the waiting room because they put some kind of radioactive stuff in his blood.>>954168
I guess so... But I just feel so restless, you know? Like there's something I should be doing.
It's been keping me up at night and I've got a headache now.>>954169
Yeah... Supposedly it's spreading slowly, but I've really not experienced doctors actually being right about something for years now. So I shudder to think of just what might happen.
I just don't know.

Well I've got more to worry about than that, for sure, but I don't think it really holds up to what you're going through. Sorry to hear about all that.
What's bothering you?
Sorry I can't sany anything better>>954170
No, I get ya.
It's tough, man. None of what you're saying or feeling right now is unusual or wrong.
Strength to him. To you both.

Well I'm unemployed again until school starts up in autumn. Just applied for food stamps (which I don't think are stamps anymore), which hopefully goes through and hopefully helps out a bit. I put out a bunch of applications for summer jobs, but one person got back to me for an interview and they didn't want someone who was going to leave again in the fall.
Also my foot still hurts, I don't know what's going on with that. Might need to see a doctor.
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate your support.
So how are you two doing?>>954176
Oh geez, I'm sorry to hear about that buddy.
Do you at least qualify for welfare, or do you have some savings or other support to fall back on?
File: 1560540120620.png (49.37 KB, 543x404, 543:404, I didn't realize you were ….png) ImgOps Google
Well I just got paid today, and I get like a quarter of a paycheck in a couple weeks (just because of how the school year ended). Not really much for savings, but I'd like to imagine I have support, either from friends or family. So in theory things aren't catastrophic here, but it's not comfortable, either.
I see... It sounds like you'll have to live cheaply for a few months, but at least I'm glad that you've got some support to fall back on.>>954179
Well, I guess it's to be expected from a Friday afternoon right?
Dying of heat in my friend's apartment. Was podcast recording with another friend yesterday and doing it again tomorrow, so crashiing here.
Trying and failing at playing Crypt of the Necrodancer
It usually picks up once the doctor offices close.
But it's been slow all week. The old folks have gone home.
Oof. Well, at least I hope you're both enjoying yourselves despite the heat!
Heh, I remember that game. I never really got far into it myself, but it's an interesting concept.>>954182
Ohh, I see.
Where did you work again? Do you do something with elderly care?
Oh he's not here. I have a key, so I tend to crash here when I need to be in town for a day or two to save on ticket money.
It is, I am just absolutely dogshit at it.
Oh? Is your friend over at his girlfriend's or something then?
Heh, don't worry, it seems like a pretty difficult game in general. I'm bad at it as well.>>954186
Ooh, right! My father used to do something similar. He was a clinical analyst in a hospital.
Yeah, it takes a bit to wrap your head around
But it was on sale for like 4 bucks what with Cadence of Hyrule being out, so it seemed almost stupid not to check it out.
