Depends on the job. I don't care if the guy at Subway making my sandwich is high, but if you're operating heavy machinery or doing anything remotely important or dangerous then I say drug testing should be mandatory for safety reasons.

I'm not expecting the kid to be sharp, but how can they be in a fast food position while high?

My valet coworkers are high a lot of the time and they're driving/parking cars and doing much harder things than making a sandwich.

No, he was just new and didn't speak English as fluently as a native-born speaker. He also didn't seem very smart.

Some combination of those things led to that happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if some accidents are from drug use but you'd be surprised, these people I work with are often high year round, I've talked with many of them about it and apparently they say that it's not very impairing to drive a vehicle or perform other tasks.

I don't know how true that is though since I don't smoke weed.

Ah I don't see that one too often. I complain about lazy coworkers but it's because I work as hard as I can.

Pretty much, do whatever you want just not at work.  I'm pretty live and let live IRL, we all have to work and pay bills.  That and anymore we all get screwed by the man, lets all just shut up and work.  BTW, have the full size of that?

Lived in WA for a bit, it's fucking insane.  I lied through my teeth at my Seattle job, during orientation when benefits came up I said "Does this mean we get the same rights as hetero couples?"  My office was mostly white women with two minority women.  I was one of 4 men, two of em were Asian.  Needless to say, me playing the LGBT card gave me the same civil rights as a white woman lol.  I changed fields and am back in school, I don't have to deal with nearly as much BS as I used too.  I avoid confrontation like the plauge, people are spiteful and will go out of their way for revenge, at least that's been my experience.

Ohh boy, you never had to deal with half the shit in life I have....

I've seen some bad things happen, knew a few adjunct professors at UW who were fired for not being diverse enough, guy I knew was literally told that to his face.  Also, women do enjoy a lot more protections in the USA than men do, it's rediculous.

I have an insurance background like Tracer, my father was a total psychopath who almost murdered mom but the man was a peerless legal scholar, I learned from him.
Seattle is a huge LGBT hub, half the reason why I went there was for that.  They do tend to be more sucessful than CIS couples, mostly because no kids.  You're right, it shouldn't be relavent in the workplace but it kinda is anymore.  I've seen men get discriminated against by female bosses, one guy I knew was screwed out of his retention bonus by a spiteful boss.  Add into the fact that I was desperate for a job that paid, was almost homeless and still having to deal with what was the mid point of a 6 year long legal fight with family that involved a restraining order, I was desperate.

 No.938237

>>938233
Also, gained rights.  I could have easily claimed discrimination if someone had it in for me.  Granted, would be hard to prove, what a lot of people do is get the local LGBT center involved and go to social media.  That's the terrifying thing about social media nowadays, you can do more damage with a smear campaign than you can with a lawsuit.  Laws are laws, a bad reputation can cost millions if not more when you factor in the years of possible lost income.  Think of it like business interruption insurance companies take out, if something like a fire happens and machinery gets damaged, the insurance pays for the income lost for those time periods, except in this case there's no insurance for a smear campaign, that I know of.  Look at the damange the LGBTQ community caused the Mormon Church over prop 8, they're just now coming out from all that bad press, it took years of constant good will, PR and lobbying for Anti-discrimination laws in SLC that did protect LGBT people.  That cost the Mormon Church millions plus years of general societal ill will, all over a smear campaign.

as someone who was in the mormon church in california while prop 8 going on, ive gotta say calling criticisms of what the church was doing a "smear campaign" is pretty far fetched. the church more than deserves that criticism.
im no longer a member for various reasons, but the way prop 8 was pushed by the church, even expecting kids my age at the time (middle school) to campaign for it was a big initial cause of disillusion.
also the church isnt hurting from any of that stuff near as much as you claim.

I agree, they do.  Oh I don't doubt it, the church is loaded beyond belief.  Unlike other churches, they've invested well and own lots of property, even ranches.  I have to give em credit, they did plan for the future hence why they're not seeing nearly the degree of colapse mainline protestants are.  I see religion for what it is, power, nothing more nothing less.  Thing is, when times get bad, so do people.  Remember when Stockton went bankrupt and there were no cops?  Good friend of mine grew up there, the stories he told me were kinda scary.

Also, I have family that was in Illonois when the mormons were run out, actually had a few relatives back in the day who hung a few of em.  Not saying that's right, hell some of em to this day are horrible human beings.  Point is, when people get pissed and the cops aren't around?  It's amazing how horrible people can get.  When you look at a city like LA who's PD is already strained, it makes you wonder just how crazy things would get if they had another Rodney King tier riot.

I'm a-political, neither side really cares about people like us nor this country.  No one wants to do anything about the homeless problems, child abuse, family disfunction nor the ever skyrocketing drug problem.  Case in point, the whole discussion about drugs we had earlier, like I said I really don't care what someone does, just do your job and i'm happy.  Too many people look for excuses to screw someone over then have to worry about the person they screwed coming back for revenge, it's just easier to live and let live, more profitable too.

Your mention of the "drug problem" in this country is kind of silly considering this thread is all about you wanting to do more drugs.

So when you say "drug problem" in this country, you don't mean that too many people are addicts, but that people are not allowed to freely use whatever drugs they want?

>So when you say "drug problem" in this country, you don't mean that too many people are addicts, but that people are not allowed to freely use whatever drugs they want?

I think there are arguably multiple "drug problems".  One could certainly make an argument that it's unfortunate people are not allowed to freely use whatever drugs they want.  It's repeatedly been a problem for me to get drugs I actually need to function at all because they're gated behind prescriptions.

It's also totally fair to say that people shouldn't drug test for weed because that's not a problem, but then also hold the belief that something like opiates are overprescribed and lead to overdoses and deaths, and as such there is a "drug problem" that doesn't not involve marijuana or testing for it before a job.

Depends, in my case I was desperate.  People here never really did play fair, now it's really ugly so I did what would give me the best shot at not being screwed over by someone with an axe to grind.  When you're a middle class kid from the burbs who's parents handed you everything you don't have to worry so much, I wasn't that fortunate.

Was it still worth watching, or was it bad?
With how good this ended up being, I can understand difficulty in making a second movie.
Especially since there's not that much left to tie up, all things considered. Most you could go for is the little spikey kid's real parents, I guess, but that's all I can really see.

Not really because they replace  Heart and Umasou with The Adventures of Tyrano Boy.

Its pretty much the same lesson he learned
like Heart, but more cliche.

Heart and Umasou are only on screen for 5 seconds and that's it.
Funny thing is that was the only good part of the whole movie seeing Heart and Umasou say hi to tryno boy.

I was just really disappointed you don't get to see the same characters again.
