You can change a lot as a person in two years. And two years of work experience in a field is worth way more than an entire college education in some cases.

i help a lot of different companies do hiring. if your resume says "two years of experience", and has no GPA on it, i would never bat an eye and ask why no GPA is listed.

on the other hand, if someone has their GPA on their resume after two years of working, i treat that with some skepticism. "Why is this still here?"

Maaaaybe some employers will care. But the vast majority, including big, BIG companies and financial firms, don't want to see your GPA.

They want to know what you learned, what you did, in your two years of work. i lead this initiative. i completed this or that project, under budget, ahead of schedule.

as an aside, when applying, don't say you collaborated on this or that. collaboration is a word that tells an employer "i do not want to take full responsibility for claiming i actually know how to do this."

i collaborated on this project with a team

vs.

i worked on this project to completion

the latter is much better.

but back to the GPA, it is okay. truly. a high GPA might give you a nice headstart. but work experience and the confidence to apply courageously will get you further than GPA can.

Saying stuff that might happened?

Not you, Moony

 No.658146

>>658125
I typed a textwall because idk.

I'll try to explain my point of view

The fact that it could happen is totally and completely irrelevant to why it's an uncool thing to say.

- I didn't give money to homeless people today, maybe they starved to death.
- I didn't donate to Africa today, Africans are starving and slaving away in mines.
- I'm not taking steps to save the environment right now, if the Ozone layer thins and our planets ecosystems collapse, I will hold myself personally responsible.

You see where I'm going with this, right? While I technically did nothing to prevent these disasters that "might have happened", it was not my intention to cause harm, so it would be unfair for me to hold me responsible, and it would just bring the general mood down, if every time I didn't do something which could benefit someone (which is all the time), I reminded myself of the misery I could prevent.

Not to say, that people shouldn't do things to prevent misery, obviously it is always a good idea to do so, but it is better if such actions are driven by positive incentives where it is possible, rather than by feelings of guilt.

Sometimes guilt is merited, if indeed something simple can be done to improve the world and such acts are neglected. But in a case were there's a limited number of job openings, and no further can be created by Moony which is the likely scenario when you're brought in as a hiring specialist, it is not so much merited, as there is no action you can take which improves the situation.

Also, how extreme is it to just say to someone, "hey you might have killed some people", when all they did was hire some people. IF they unknowingly killed someone, why would you bring that shit up. That's just opening old wounds. Tact, man, tact. It'll save you out there if you practice it.

Jeez

>>658146
Why are you so mad?
I can see Moony be mad but not you

Also yeah, you might killed homeless person cus you didn't give him money and he starved to death however by giving him money, maybe other homeless person could kill him from jealouse and to steal that money so you could kill him too by giving him money. No matter what you do, there is possiblity that your killed that homeless guy.

You think I wanted to spend my time explaining basic tact to internet people today? Nuh uh, dude. But I feel like I have to when you say stupid shit like that, or you're just gonna keep doing it, lounging around being willfully sad depressing, refusing to take responsibility for anything you do, like the world is some kinda big lottery that just doles every little thing you say out with no involvement from you whatsoever.

The studio version sounds NOTHING like this version and it bothers me. Like, I know there's something terrible with the feedback, but I've also heard it live and the studio version sounds terrible in comparison.
