We have exciting news for everypony! First and foremost, our editing feature is in its final review, and should hopefully be out soon. I know, it's been in the works for a while but I can promise we're in the final stages.
Secondly, we are working on Ponymotes for the site! Little emoticons you can add to your posts. As such, we're opening up submissions for the Ponymote system!
If you can, please submit images you'd like to see as Ponymotes with a height of 27 pixels, and a width of no more than 50!
A special thank you to our Developer !!Thorax, who has been doing incredible work for us since joining!

Can we also have the option to submit a double-resolution image (height exactly 2*27=54px and weight ≤ 100px) for phone and other high-DPI devices?

I don't think the double height works very well. I inserted that fluttershy into my framework and it doesn't look super good. I would probably want to keep it to 27px.>>539029
I want to keep the height consistent to keep the pages looking alright, but you have flexibility with the width. Just don't make it absurdly wide.>>539019>>539016>>539012>>539033
I'm not the decision maker for what is accepted or not, but at a minimum I think we need permission from the image owner to add it to the site. So, just grabbing any ol' fun icons from the internet might not work.

Can't you set the height to 27px with CSS? That way, it's 27 pixels high on normal devices at 100% zoom, but you can get more detail on high-resolution displays or when you zoom > 100%.>>539038>a minimum I think we need permission from the image owner to add it to the site.
The Python snake logo is open-source, I'm pretty sure. And I don't think 4chan will mind if we borrow their party hat.

Ah, I see. You'll have to forgive me, my only frontend experience is from the maybe 1 month of putzing around this website's code (maybe you should be a Dev, you certainly are more knowledgeable about all this junk than me).
Anyway, it should be easy to do that, no problem.>>539038
I'll leave the selection to Moony and the other admin people. Though I do really like snek.

Cool, it works. Now I guess it doesn't matter as much what height the icons are. I would just make sure that they are tested to look good at 27px height.

heya cloud! that's not a bad idea… i suppose we could ask r/mylittlepony
we have a pretty good relationship with them, and we've collaborated in the past!
buuuuut… i'd also love for us to have our own silly set of emotes ^^
I was only being kinda silly, but if there's a relationship with them then that's one way to make it easy if we don't come up with enough of our own ^^
Totally understand the idea of having ones with unique character for this place though!

Double height being squished to normal height is a regular feature for most sites now because of double resolution screens (such as mine). The html and CSS won't be that difficult.
And the cool thing about using a BBCode type system for emojis (such as :emoji: ) is that you can quickly add any number of emojis that you want to the BBCode processing.
