Itt let's try to commingle, I have the house to myself today and I'm really lonely, the most I have to keep me happy is the constant hope that things might get better on this site, that and playing my old famicom from childhood, as a starting point maybe we can talk about that, video games from childhood, or if not that we can talk about something else, just please give this thread a chance.

Using video games to numb the feeling of lonelines is quite the smart move!
What are your favorite games for the NES Steam?
Mine's definetly gotta be Castlevania.

What is the appeal to you of retro games?

>video games from childhood
I pretty much wore out the A button on one of my NES controllers from playing Dragon Warrior IV so much.  I really enjoyed JRPGs in the sprite era, so much so that I had no interest in consoles once the 3D era started.  I loved it so much in fact that I spent the better part  of 10 years making my own multiplayer fan game, one that a lot of people seemed to enjoy.

I was always a completionist, leaving games on for days when they didn't allow saving.  Being unable to complete games bothered me, the one I regret most being Mega-Man 2, because back in the day you couldn't simply look up a walkthrough when you were stuck in an area.  A such, despite dozens of hours playing, I could never beat Metroid or Castlevania 2 or Zelda 2 (even with game genie on that one).  I have no interest in the Call of Duties or whatever big 'triple A' game is being shoveled out nowadays, but I'll still fire up an old NES or SNES game from time to time.

I grew up with a regular Famicom and SNES so they hold sentimental value to me, I see the NES era as the golden age of videogames, they weren't so low tech that you had to completely use your imagination, but at the same time they weren't so realistic that you may as well do the same things in real life, they were as advanced as they needed to be, no more no less.

I just now read it. Also I'm kinda surprised you had trouble with what I know as Rockman 2, I made it to the first round of Dr Wiley but couldn't beat him without a turbo controller, It wasn't until the modern day that I played it on an nes with a converter and turbo controller that I was able to beat him.

>>517485  I couldn't get past the dragon, because I always got knocked off the platforms and didn't know to just stay on the high one.  since I learned the secret to beating it, I haven't gone back to play it again.

I think the pattern might be different in the Japanese version then because in Rockman 2 he fires at you no matter where you stand and the trick to beating him is to wait for him to fire and jump to the next platform before getting hit.

Throughout the piece he'll blame the world, women and as he looses his sanity more toward the end he'll blame other races, none of which I agree with but everything else I do. Due to the parts of his views I disagree with it makes it hard to present my point each time without people focusing on that over the other stuff.

He literally said he blames the whole of humanity. Particularly women. I don't need to read 147 pages of trash when he summed it up in the first fucking sentence.

>maybe Adam Carolla would be a better person to explain why your country is at fault for what happened
He's saying that the new set of kids is bullshit. That the next set of humanity is bullshit. That self-entitlement is a growing problem. Elliot was self entitled, as he expected women to like him. I think you are drawn toward Elliot because you too have his same victim complex.

So yeah, Adam has nothing to do with what you're trying to say, because he's not talking about all of America, just the next set of millennial that are coming. So, to let you know, a small amount of people =/= all people.

>This guy also explains why your country is at fault
Elliot was never formally diagnosed with Aspergers so that video fell through the fucking floor didn't it.

Just saying, my impression is that Steam is not very effective at expressing what he means, and rather than clarify it in a meaningful way, some of you are instead quote mining him.  So yes, he may have said those things, but I question whether that's actually what he means, even if his views haven't changed which they very well may have.  Easiest example, when he says 'Americans' are to blame, I'm fairly certain he doesn't actually mean Americans but instead means society, however he would define it.

You're not specifying what I'm supposed to be stopping. You're using the word "You" wrong in this whole statement here. I've only every really known one person with Aspergers. So your statement is wrong in the literal sense.
