Jeremie Belpois (cutscene): return to the past now!

Or join Twilight and her friends on a magical adventure through danger and peril with My Little Pony

Twilight Sparkle (cutscene): Pinkie what are you crazy run!

Or join ash on his journey as he attempts to "catch em all" in Pok'emon

Ash Ketchum (cutscene): Pikachu, thunder shock now!

And then, every Saturday morning witness the "blue streak that speeds by"! Who is he? You'll just have to stick around and find out here on the Ponyville Afternoon, but until then we'll be back after these messages

I never watched more then 2 seconds of CL:Evo because I couldn't find English translations of it so I gave up looking.

I wouldn't bother with it. It's just… aaagh, it's right there next to Fairly Odd Parents live action movies on things I just want to erase from memory.

The most I know about it (because I got curious one night and looked it up on Wikipedia) the villians this time are Aelit's biological mother and some mad scientist, both of whom are working on a new AI called Xana 2.0

So it's basically your overly used Jason Voorhees cliche, you know the one, the type of story that needs a poorly thought out deus ex machina to bring the bad guy back, where if someone d**king around so much as farts the bad guy magically comes back from the dead due to bs fantasy explanation or laughably bad science explanation.

 No.491465

File: 1495565531960.png (65.58 KB, 241x238, 241:238, Tyron-home-icon.png) ImgOps Google

I've seen a few episodes.Heres what I know. The new villain is called Tyrone who looks like a circus clown without make up than a villain. He created this place called Cortex which is like his own virtual world seperate from Lyoko. He also accidentally awoken XANA somehow despite being destroyed in previous series. I don't know whats the point of Cortex, I don't think he wants to take over the world but he is suppose to be bad news so I really dunno what his whole plan is.

But Tyrone isn't the problem here… well partially is, but that isn't the major issue.

The major issue is that the show fk'd with the formula! It was a successful show and they messed up the formula that made it so successful!

Code Lyoko was unique as "Earth" was traditionally animated while Lyoko was animate dentirely in CGI which I found very creative for the show. Code Lyoko Evolution replaced the concept of Earth being animated with live action footage with an awkward cast of teens. Not only that but some of the live-action characters have peculiar fashion or wear wigs which just makes it look even more ridiculous.

The problem is these wierd things such as wigs, fashion or Tyrone's appearance is that these things are more ideal for cartoon animation than they would live action. Aelita having pink hair in CL was fine because it was a cartoon, thus such outlandish things seemed more natual. But for CL:Evo, they just got her to wear a wig and it looked fake and alien to the scenes that try to be dramatic.

And thats just the scratch of my rant of CL:Evo. Theres just too much for me to go through to why I despise CL:Evo and how I hate it killed such a good series. Oh yeah they removed Forest and Ice Sector from CL:Evo, I guess barren wastelands and purple rocks with some trees are more easier to render than aesthetically pleasing sectors that we loved.

On a side note, Sissy became blond and Samantha (Odd's ex) became white-washed.

 No.491469

Oh yeah, and the acting in general is just bad, but figure I didn't need to mention that given I just hate it.

Fantasy genre character: it was foretold in the prophecy that when the mystical jewl of blah blah blah is merged with the jewl of yak yak yak the dark lord something something will rise from his grave to seek his revenge, and only the chosen one can defeat him with the ancient legendary sword of who gives a s**t.

Sci fi genre character: Doctor Whatever, you better take a look at this, we've analyzed the dark lord's DNA left behind after the toxic waste spill and well the accident it seems has rejuvenated his alien tissue.

Well yeah…4kids dubs are jokes.

It has been a running gag for a long time to reason what a 4kids dub for some anime would be.

I like the 4kids dub of yugioh that made up the shadow realm rather than just killing people over a card game.

There was one where they made saws that were going to cut the legs off of the loser into magical dark energy disk that sends the person it touches to the shadow realm.

Y'know, the AVGN must have been pretty rich growing up.

My family wasn't that well off growing up. When we wanted a video game, we usually had to sell off our old games to get the money for the new game. It was the same for our consoles, we couldn't afford the brand new consoles but if we sold off our old consoles then the new ones would of been a bit more afforable.

Looking back, I wish I didn't. Sure I got a Mega Drive and Dreamcast today, but they wern't the original ones and I feel bad for departing with them.
(Though to be fair, or Dreamcast broke down in the end)
Not because of how valuble those games I played would be today, but also because I feel nostalgic for them, like an old friend from 15 years a go.

Heck if things were different I could of been the AVGN if I pioneered Youtube in the turn of the millenium… or very least start off as the passive-aggressive Sega Nerd.
Then again I wouldn't know where to put my library of games. My family had moved to different homes a lot and if I had AVGN basement I'd find it a pain to pack all of that up to move home.

We couldn't afford more than one console. And while I did played a frends SNES, I found more appeal with the Mega Drive. While I humour the "Sega versus Nintendo" campaign, I was too young to fully comprehend about the console debates back then and UK Mega Drive advertisement didn't fling muck at SNES as much as American advertisement did.

So yeah, had a pretty sheltered childhood until I attended High School. Not the sort to take up a Menacer and shoot the Nintendo fanatics wit htheir Super Scope in the glory of Sega.
Couldn't even afford a Menacer.

How even did you get through a single season of mlp if you're too cool to watch a single frame of animation past the intro?

Mlp fim intro: my little pony, my little pony, ahhh ahhh ahhh ahhh, my little pony, I use to wonder what friendship could be…

Toybox: oh god dammit it's the same episode again!

You don't have to be rude about it. Like you, I mostly post from my phone so being able to click video links may not always be an option where I'm at. I was just looking at the file names and the structure of the posts and they looked the same.

I didn't understand the point of the thread until someone said, "It's just any Steam likes to link videos he likes." Which does make sense now.

It's just that the post structure and the images used in those posts were exactly the same every time so they looked like copies of each other.

I chose that because that's the kinda scenery I associate with retro games because when I was a kid it was those kind of days I would be indoors playing video games.
