So when's this purported rule for Canterlot supposed to come into effect?

How about now?

Mods only ITT.

...it's proving difficult, but that's a good point you have made, Val.

How come there's no fun thread on /canterlot right now for me to shitpost in, Moons?

This is /canterlot/.  No fun allowed!

>Mods only ITT
I don't think you're a mod.

I see the mods are still not enacting the new rules. Okay

Is that so?  It looks like Moony locked Mint's thread appealing Steam Twist's ban, in accordance with the new rules.  And the new rules apply only to threads appealing moderation actions.

The new rule is supposed to apply to all threads in Canterlot. It's just OP post, mod post, OP response, Mod response, lock thread. Not OP post, bunch of random people start arguing about the OP topic, mod eventually comes in and says something, people argue about what the mod said, mod posts again, then locks the thread.

>The new rule is supposed to apply to all threads in Canterlot.
That was it originally, but they changed it.  Now it only applies to appeals about mod actions.

Yeah, there needed to be the opportunity to discuss other things that aren't really as dramatic and long winded as user reactions to bans (or lack of bans).

We definitely reserve the right to just declare a final word and lock any thread if it's getting out of hand, but it's not a default rule for any thread.

We do ask that you tag site discussion threads as such, to help sort things more easily, and that threads be kept serious, but yes: The new rule of "OP>Mod post>rebuttal>mod response and lock" applies only to appeal threads.

Ah, I see.

Why didn't you guys make an announcement about it, then?

This post still says the exact same thing as always.

This does strongly imply differently than Scoots clarifies:

I interpreted it your way myself.

This presumed ambiguity really should be corrected.

The post has been updated to clarify this, if anyone is still confused.

>This policy need not apply to site discussion threads, which will remain open for all users to weigh in on, provided responses are kept civil and relevant, and the thread OP is tagged appropriately.

I hope that clears everything up

Thanks! You can lock the thread now

wait shit my name is gone
