For those that missed it, the following was in the deleted image >>>/pony/961012

(accompanying a picture of Hermann Göring)
Those who "still think they can continue to treat animals as inanimate property" would be sent to concentration camps...

Quoting a literal Nazi is not against the rules. But in the context here, it looks like tacit approval of the Nazi concentration camps, which is something we would rather be aggressive about keeping off the site.

Note, if Mint says it wasn't his intent to support concentration camps, that's okay, but the image still needed to go. It just doesn't belong on this site.

I also might add, the quote is apparently in the context of vivisection, which is a horrific act. But even still, let's not even hint at condoning the holocaust here, alright?

Please let us know if you disagree or have further comments.

If it was some random person, I wouldn't find any fault with it, but Mint was known to identify as a Nazi until recently. So it would be best to prevent him from pushing such images in the future. Intentional or not, a joke or not, it's inappropriate for him to do so.

 No.4615

>>4614
Yeah, I second this. Mint has shown Nazi sympathies on Ponychan, and whether it was "ironic" or not, it's not appropriate, for this user especially, to be posting stuff like that.

Really?  The implied message (in the context of the thread, about eating animals) seemed to be "meat-eaters should be holocausted".  Is /pony/ really the right place for things like that?  (And not just to pick on a right-wing example, I'd say the same for things like "The bourgeois should be sent to the gulags" or "Liberals get the bullet too".)

>The implied message (in the context of the thread, about eating animals) seemed to be "meat-eaters should be holocausted".
Yeah, that was kind of the point. Out of context it seems almost too extreme to be real. Which is why I find it so funny.

Although as OP said, this was said directly after the National Socialists passed though anti-vivisection laws.

Some people would say the same about opinions that you actually do hold. So I advise that you refrain from making such jokes, lest they be misinterpreted by others.

Thank you Thorax, for the thread.

Hmm, I feel like we really should take a step back and sometimes consider how edgy or tryhard the stuff we post can be and somewhere feel a seed of "okay, maybe I shouldn't have put it on here."
A seedling of even joking brutal edge posting can degenrate in it becoming the norm when others join in.

But i dunno, I feel for Mint as well. A honest intended thread on veganism was trashed because it derailed into rape?
Then a quote was removed and a rather harsh looking comment under a mod tag with a warning not to spread nazi propaganda must be pretty intimidating.

I don't know if there's a better way to handle it, but I can understand this would start scaring away someone who might have good intentions.

And I got my final warning for asking what was going on.

It's not that. A more optimistic person than you or me might mistake "former Nazi" to also mean "former racist". Just wanted to make sure everyone knows that's not the case.

Minty is a high school graduate and has an autism diagnosis.

He spent far too much time on /pol having his deep-seated personal fears manipulated by alt-right propaganda before coming to Ponychan and now this site.

I sincerely hope the community here is able to be patient with him and help him grow.

At the same time, Minty, your interaction in that thread was more confrontational and dismissive than i think you realize.  It's up to you to conduct yourself a bit more ...gently here, than you are used to.

Being a highschool graduate and having autism aren't an excuse for being a nazi

Most of my friends are high school graduates with autism and not a single one of them has ever shown any nazi sympathies. It really is no excuse.

Absolutely.  For that, there can be no excuse.

My point was that he did not intend to be as confrontational as he was, for anyone who felt attacked or offended.  So they may hopefully feel less attacked or offended.

I'm probably not saying this very well.

I really feel you should shoot a little higher than "imperceptibly better" and try to actually behave sociably.  To me, your conduct in the vegan thread seemed more like attention seeking than trying to join the community.

Please read and consider these words:

I rarely talk about it, unless someone else brings it up. I’ve only made two threads about it, and this ponyville one will probably be my last.

>I feel like we really should take a step back and sometimes consider how edgy or tryhard the stuff we post can be and somewhere feel a seed of "okay, maybe I shouldn't have put it on here."
I do this constantly, and 9/10 times I decide that I just shouldn’t make that joke or post. But you obviously don’t get to see those times, so I can see why you might I just post whatever happens to cross my mind without any thought or consideration.

>unless someone else brings it up

Read the threads again.  This was a new community to you and no one knew that about you to have brought it up before you did.  You initiated it yourself.

As long as you are in denial about it being YOU who always brings it, you will continue to bring it up first everywhere you go.

>i should get a pass on one murder because of the ten people i wanted to kill but didn't

This is a solid example of your brushing off advice that you need to listen to.  It does not matter how many times you behave.  It matters when you misbehave.

Please learn.
